Please help me to identify this vintage watch
Hello. I am writing to You guys with a kindly inquiry to verify below watch. I got it checked and it is all 18k gold. I am higly confused by the movement - it seems to be cal 1873, caseback and bracelet... Nothing match. Your help will be highly appreciated. Have a nice day.

Even I can tell that's fake. Who would make such a case, in 18K???

Not unheard of. Here is an aftermarket 18K gold case for a President. (I wont call it fake because I see no Rolex roll marks on it)
There are 18K cases that a faker could use to try and fool the uneducated. There are even unmarked Solid 18K gold President bracelets out there. https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/case-...14283.htm#gref

I find this odd. I'd think you could find an old genuine 1803 for about what you'd pay for a full 18K fake, so why bother? Perhaps I just don't have the mind of a faker. Anyway thanks for the link, one more thing to watch out for! |
