Oh! Very nice. Is that bezel aluminum or some proprietary polymer (aka fancy Rolex plastic)?

Congratulations

I read it as:

The watch belongs to a friend and the OP is considering buying it?

Ally: I would have confirmed the situation before posting.

Ok then, you must have added the punctuation yourself to come up with that.

You think the watch is legit ?

Amazing find and condition! I guess the "speedy resemblance" is augmented by the angled shape of the lugs.

Fantastic. Now that a daytona I can get on board with. No excessive shine, and can be read very easily, enough hash marks on subdials, and a proper tool watch. Enjoy it and I hope you wear it and it does not just stay in the safe.

Does it have authentic paperwork?

I have the same question.

To avoid sounding stupid, my understanding of 6263 subdials is the in between hash marks are typically thinner than the major number marker 20, 40, 60 hash marks. On this dial, the marks are the exact same thickness. Also the markets are sans serif where I have only seen serif hash marks. Same applies for the 3, 6, 9, 12 subdials below.

The bezel markers are faintly printed (might be the lighting) and the dots next to the numbers are much smaller than I have seen previously.

Trying to learn more and please correct me as I have not seen this type of variation before.

All super valid points, kudos. The main reason I asked that question is I have learned specifically with any outside branded dials if the paperwork is not correct it’s highly likely it’s a fake dial. The reward for turning a normal anything into a Comex or Tiffany etc is just way to valuable. The only one that has not needed this has been Dominos lol otherwise if not full legit paperwork it gets a standard ref valuation based on condition.

Also learning here (slowly).

Is it typical for vintage Rolex to have that much spacing between lugs and bracelet end links?

Certainly newer examples are nice and tight, but I’d be interested in knowing if that’s a vintage characteristic.
