Whats a good price in the US for a New SS GMT IIc?

I went to a AD yesterday and they only wanted to give me 10% off plus tax on a SS GMTII.
I tried 30% and they shot it down quick. So my question is what is a reasonable offer I should do? Also, should this be with tax or out the door?
So, would a $7000 and ask for 22% discount, out the door (tax included) at $5460, be reasonable?
If anyone can recommend a AD, please PM me! Especially if they are in S. Cali.
Thanks! This board is great~

$5900 - out the door from an AD ($5500 + taxes) would be realistic in my opinion

Sean

Edit - Would be Possible

So about 21% discount plus tax may be the magic number?

Unfortunately 30% on such a new/desirable watch like that is borederline impossible. 10% is the national standard (and very fair, as some dealers will not disocunt the GMTIIc a dime). You could ask the AD to ship the watch out of state to a friend or familly member in order to save tax in addition to the 10% discount, but don't ask them just to send an empty box.. it's very illegal to do so.

In this economy - anything is possible. I paid cash for my GMT IIC a month ago and I have the receipt to back up the $$ number listed in my post above. Keep in mind the MSRP on the GMT IIC a year ago was $5800. Now it is $7000. There may be dealers with "pre-price increase" inventory in stock

Consider yourself lucky if they giving you 10% on this model. Ask them to ship out of state to save more $$$.

There's also a couple of good sellers (GM) on this forum ads for a brand new for relatively less money.

I feel like there was a new GMT II-C for around $5100 here on the sales forum.

Good luck hunting. If it wasn't for the price increase I think the 10% is a pretty good number

Hello I bought a Stainless and white gold Turn O Graph, with oyster bracelet last month at a very well known AD in Boston and got 20% off. I had it shipped to my homestate and saved another 5.5%. I have been wanting this watch for a long time and I couldnt be happier. Its my first Rolex.
