What is it about the GMT IIC?

What happened? How did this watch become my absolute favorite?
Sometimes I think it could be the one to make me an honest man and sell off my other pieces...

Anybody else feel this way?

It's a masterwork of precision and design, and I'm one of the many who believe it is the best Rolex ever made.

Right on. As for the many that believe it is the best Rolex, count me in. I recently got a SS black Daytona, and while I am in awe of it, my GMT IIC still hogs all the wrist time! If ever there was a testament.

It's amazing... This is the first watch I've had that I don't want to take off! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my other Rolexes, but there is something about this watch!

It even looks good with the James Bond Nato Strap.

My problem with it is that it feels flashy. It's also a bit heavy, too. But the flashiness bothered me most today, when I had a cuff on that it simply would not go under.

Maybe a nato strap dress-down is what I need.

Finest ever.

As I have said before, it is the ONLY watch I have ever seen that looks much better in person than in pictures. Companies pay a lot of money to hire the best photographers and touch-up artists; yet, even Rolex cannot manage to capture the magnificence of this watch in print. Only in person does this truly become the quintessential Rolex, the finest ever.

Is it just me, or do the photos on the Rolex site look more like 3D renderings than photographs? They are great photos, but the way they light watches is too perfect and makes the photos look fake. Not just for the GMT but other watches as well. Sometimes a stray reflection or shadow is a good thing. The GMT IIc definitely looks better in person, and the wrist shots in the forum show how it really looks.

not to change the thread, however -
I am a big fan of omega and breitling - but I have to tell you, they are the worst at photos in their catalogs

I would never purchase any omega or breitling based on catalog pictures. I went to buy a Speedmaster Legend in white at my AD, got there, and the thing was actually a dark ivory or cream. Not white at all.
and you never get a true sense of how large and heavy breitlings are from pictures.

I believe it is the best looking of them all too. Excellent design and looks, precision that you naturally expect and enjoy from Rolex and very comfortable.
