ROO reliability

Hello

I am fairly new to AP so please don’t judge me for asking this. I only own rolexes and experienced superb reliability and precision with my sub and GMT models. I am interested to add a chronograph to my collection. Since the daytona’s are unobtainable and severely overpriced secondhand my eyes fell upon the ROO line from Ap. Really love the look of those watches.

After some research I like the following two references the most:

26470ST.OO.A027CA.01 (Navy blue model)
26470ST.OO.A101CR.01 (vampire model)

Now what I don’t like... I know the internet is biased and the bad is getting more attention then the good but I keep reading about issues with the 3126 movement they use in these models... What is the general consensus on them and are the fairly more recent models (2016 and up) better? Would you buy second hand or new and why? I have an active lifestyle and reliability is VERY important to me. I understand service is needed every 5-6years but I read stories about people sending these in once a year... that to me is unacceptable. Any thoughts and comments are appreciated greatly and will help me in making my final decision

Thanks

Re

Thanks for your reply. I was very suprised reading about some common issues with the ROO. For the price Ap is asking near perferction is what we should get... nevertheless I understand internet is very biased! Does anyone has any experience with the models from 2016 and up? Are there things I should avoid when checking the grey dealers for one?

Thanks

According to my own experience caliber 3120 and its derivatives are far from "near perfection", rather the opposite.

Two with no problems and one has seen hard use (climbing, safari, hang gliding ...). Both keep time within 2spd. Most are available from resellers with modest premium.
