Something’s happening with smurfs

My smurf seems to be climbing in value over the past few months. I’m wondering if there’s any correlation with a possible discontinuation.

Who knows, really. Though, it does make me want to look at the current value of my pieces.

i thought the white gold smurf was always relatively high in the value department. have you noticed an uptick with the two tone SS/YG ones?

Hi, I don’t have a TT nor a YG. I only add the watches I own on the C24 watch collection so I just follow mine. The smurf was at +5-6% forever and has recently jumped from +14 to +17

It's interesting to see that a white gold sub is almost the same price as a 116500 Panda at the secondary market

Go Yellow Gold. Smurf is cool, but the YG has the history behind it and will be set apart from steel in appearance beyond just the bezel. I wear mine as a daily.

Looks like you made the right choice!

I do notice the trusted gray prices (where they have a gone up from around 27k USD to 30k USD) Why not right? As Hulk becomes more in demand, I'm sure it's like the White Dayonona vs OF PM Daytona decision. Spread stays the same as rising tide lifts all boats.

I really prefer the smurf over the yellow gold sub. I feel its a bit more versatile compared to the yellow gold

There seems to be some confusion here between price and value, and between asking price and price.

Exactly that with all precious metal watches all brands if paid retail or a little less. In proportion to price paid will in the real world take a much bigger used market hit than say any of the SS and thats a plain and simple fact.

And asking price vs selling price.

My opinion of the Chrono 24 values, is that there is a 15% margin of error on the frequently traded watches and a 50% margin if they are traded infrequently.

I'm a huge fan of the smurf...values always fluctuate with it...in the end its a great piece for a solid price if you buy it used.
