To sell or not to sell
Do yall ever feel their is a psychological limit on how many watches we should have. I been fortunate and built my collection up, and keep going back and forth...sell...not sell...sell...not sell...
Do any of you go back and forth about trimming the collection? |

I need at least 4 watches in my rotation. It keeps me from getting bored of any 1 watch.

Sell the house. Sell the car. Sell the kids. Find someone else. Forget it. I'm never coming back. Forget it.
I have come to learn that one watch is more than enough. Same with a lot of things. Been trimming everything. Minimalising life.

1 watch is enough. Invest your money or spend it on home improvement.

Last sold a Rolex in 2008.Every single one would have been worth much more now .Think carefully before just selling or exchanging for another Rolex .

For me a couple of nice watches is the right number. Then there could be a basic beater watch and I've an Omega I really rarely use but selling it would be little money.

I have spent a lot of time pondering the perfect collection, selling / adding etc. Definitely slowing down now, decided 4-5 is my max, time to enjoy what I have

When one of the watches I'm waiting for comes in, I'll likely sell my first (from 1985). I just don't wear it. I don't get the whole "I have memories with this" idea. Maybe I'll regret it? I guess I'll find out.

I'm good with what I have, 8 watches. That being said, I have one that I don't wear that much and would sell.

People get into this hobby for watches and many end up getting addicted to the thrill of the hunt/buy over the actual watches.
Take a step back and keep the pieces you truly want. I only have one watch at the moment because the others were not destined for the permanent collection. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I constantly go back-and-forth with it. Maybe go one piece at a time. That’s how I’ve been doing it.
I have one on the chopping block. However, I need to go through the five stages of grief of losing my ass on it before I do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I find myself...
sometimes buying and selling the same watch, more than once. Did I just admit that?:)

I think we all evaluate our collections, add, trim tinkering here and there ... it’s all part of the fun.

I was going to consolidate, then I was going to just sell a couple and buy another car. Ended up not selling anything and happy with that decision.

I buy and sell, based on what I want to try. Almost always preowned. The collection is stabilizing.
Sub pm GMT pm GMT ss Dblue Daytona pm incoming next week AP diver These will likely stay. Others will come and go because I like trading. Casually trading is the hobby for me. I enjoy visiting with you folks, during the process. I’ve bought, sold and repurchased the same reference more than one time. Sad to admit, but now I know what I really like.

I often consider trading some of the lesser worn watches in my collection for a piece I’ve wanted for years which has always been out of reach.
I could trade 3-4 pieces for the grail watch but I can’t bring myself to let them go. I just know I’d regret selling any of them. And while some get very little wrist time, I’d be a fool to sell them given their historical ROI. So, I’m enjoying what I have and hoping for the day when the watch I want is either a) cheaper or b) I have more money |
