First time Rolex Purchase

hello,

looking to jump into my first Rolex. I am a small collector and looking for a like new rolex that would incredibly easy to liquidate and a great store of value. I have my eye on the Daytona's. Can anyone chime in on which newer models if times get in a pinch would hold it's value the best? Would a Daytona even qualify? thanks in advance

SS Submariner or SS/Root Beer GMT. SS Daytona (but they aren’t readily available close to list price).

I would go with pre-owned 5 digit sub from a trusted seller.

Daytona = Cosmograph

At MSRP, the 116500LN Daytona in either black or white:
- easy to liquidate at the right price
- great store value...(its a daytona)
- largest $ premium over MSRP

But...unless you have great relationship with your AD, it will be extremely difficult to get one at MSRP. Assuming you can get on a "list", which be hurdle, it will still take potentially years. If you do some research, some TRF members, who are not new to Rolex and have significant purchase $$$$$$ history, are waiting 1-4 years, or still waiting.

Best of luck

You realize Chrono 24 is a web site for grey dealers. So, are you prepared to pick up one of those “dime a dozen” Daytona’s for double MSRP?

A dime a dozen? Really? It's actually closer to $300,000 per dozen on chrono24.

There are a lot of articles, blogs, videos, and posts on the premium and scarcity of Rolex, in particular the 116500. It is probably the most second in demand timepiece in the world (after the 5711) and secondary market values are double the MSRP.

go for it, all the best. Remember not selling it once you buy unless you want to upgrade :-)
