If Tudor made this.
I believe it would blow the Black Bay collection out of the water but would definitely cut down on Submariner sales.

At the end of the day it's still a Tudor, which makes it win/win.
Whoever already owns a modern submariner would maybe want this Tudor in their collection. Whoever buys the Tudor first will later want to get a Rolex because Tudor isn't Rolex. |

I disagree because iv owned a few Rolex before Tudor and I think one of the best qualities of Tudor is it isn’t Rolex. I personally don’t need the crown to know I have a quality watch. Plus the quality of Tudor and there price point are more inline with what Rolex used to be when they built true tool watches not jewelry.

Will never happen!
Rolex = Mercedes hour hand Tudor = Snowflake hour hand. No more design overlapping anymore! |

Not all Tudors have snowflake hands.

It's a shame. They will never ever going to give Tudor the Oyster bracelet again.
That case design, similar (same?) to the 5513/14060, steel bezel, the dial. Put a 4-5k price tag on it and it blows everything out of the water. Why would you even care about a 10k sub? |

I have a 79090. Tudor on the dial and Rolex on the case. What a great combination!

Imagine they bring it back in blue, can you just imagine the feeding frenzy.
This one completely changed what I thought I wanted in a watch. Simply sublime watch. |

Tudor CEO has said a few times, he wishes to recognise and celebrate Tudors past accomplishments with watches that borrow character, style and application. But it won't ever be a replica or recreation.
Stick with the times, modernise but incorporate history. Rolex on the other hand never look back. |

Rolex doesn’t look back as often as most like because Rolex really hasn’t changed it’s models original design. Take a Datejust or Submariner, those are basically carbon copies of the original. Materials changed, the sizes evolved but to the average non wis person, an 80s Rolex Daydate looks damn near identical to a 2020. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a watch like the Tudor Submariner again, I just don’t think they’ll call it Submariner anymore, it’ll be released under the Black Bay name. But you never know, be patient Tudor is giving us what we want. |

I had a feeling the Tudor Subs might become more desirable. :) These are both 76100s but only the black one still has the lollipop hand.

Awesome watch. But I wonder if it would be moving backwards for Tudor. Modern tudors stand on their own. These Rolex clones perpetuate the “poor man’s Rolex” sentiment. I think this is why we will never see another Tudor sub.

why go back.... company should recognize their pasts and pull elements of it and move forward into the future.
if you want a Tudor Sub, then buy a Tudor Sub |

A lot of people probably believe that Tudor can't stand on its own without the association to Rolex.
But I think Tudor should establish its unique design ethos, different from Rolex, if it wants to survive as a brand long-term. So, no I don't believe reviving the Tudor sub is good for the brand. It just further reinforces its reputation as a 'poor man's Rolex'. |

It sure is a nice thought for them to reissue the classics. I myself wish they would delve back into the Monte Carlo chronographs or at the very least update their current Heritage chronograph line.
That being said, I actually do prefer if they move forward and innovate. It seems they just prefer to be a 1 trick pony for now. |

I don't think Tudor will ever remake this in Black or Blue , but it’s a good thought. It seems that Tudor are sticking with the snowflake hands on the BB line as a conscious distinct design difference from the Rolex Mercedes hands . Might have been direct instruction from “ the management “.

The Submariner will be unaffected with its 300m water resistance. For the same 200m water resistance and styling as this imagined Tudor the Invicta Pro Diver would be an incredible value proposition unless of course the Tudor has the same pricing.

I like the diversity that you’re pointing out Dan. The problem is they don’t invest more resources into the other model lines. They just keep tweaking the Black Bay year after year. |

I think the 58 is the closest we are going to see to the original Tudor Sub.
