Question for a friend

Hey all. I know a guy who likes to keep the second chronograph hand on his Daytona at the 6 o'clock rather than the 12, he wants to know if leaving it there instead of resetting it to the 12 would have any impact on the watch or the chronograph. This may seem like a silly question but it's playing on his mind. I didn't want to tell him anything in case I was wrong.

Thanks peeps

I know leaving it running has no negative effect with the vertical clutch. Doubt stopping it at 6 harms anything

Yes, if I was asking for myself I would have just asked.

Question for a friend

Outside of becoming “bottom heavy” * due to the weight of the sweep-seconds chrono hand being at the bottom, no lasting fallout...

* bottom heavy isn’t a real condition, but around here, ya gotta cover all the bases for the WIS-ful observers.

No bother, I sometimes freeze mine at 6 on my Daytona so I have something to read if I have an hour to kill.

running chrono won't harm
keeping at 12pm won't harm
I can't see why keeping at 6pm will do any harm....afaik

But just curious why keep at 6pm? your friend just likes the way it looks?

Yeah, I think he likes to be able to see the top part of the dial. "Just as subtle" was the word he used.
