Rolex at duty free help

I needed some advice appreciate if you can take time out to help me

I am travelling from London heathrow terminal 2 to dubai airport for a 3 hour stopover.

I wanted to buy a rolex but I dont know whether to get it from the rolex store in heathrow terminal 2 or wait till I get to dubai duty free, do you have any experience on where would be cheaper???

Also I'm pretty sure they only have day dates and date just avaliable because all the fancy stuff like submariners and gmt masters etc have been snapped up.

Could you please guide me on what would be better for future value like what model, metal and which kind of dial colour would be the best to maintain its value.

Many thanks

You have to do the math

Duty Free does not mean duty free for you. You still need to declare your import and pay VAT and duties upon re-entry to your home country.

Because you live in London it would be better to have local AD support vs perceived savings of a few £ or €.

Larry is right about the VAT you’ll pay upon your return. Now if you’re going overseas for an extended stay (say 1-2 years) then buy where you’ll be the ex-Pat.

Forget about the "future value" scenario.

Sounds as if you need to do some homework on what you really want.

And buy what you want when you see it or you might not get another chance any time soon.

Welcome to the forums. Some solid advice above, and I agree with Explorer - get what you want and don't worry about retaining value.
