divers link correct notch in clasp

what is the correct location of the O and the notch pin location in the clasp on a SS Submariner M version. I know the notches represent adjustment for size but is it better to move the pin in and add links or take links out and move the notch pin out? At some point the diver link release O would extend
pass the end of the clasp.....

The links in the divers extension will not go past the end of the clasp when adjusted (Unless deployed). From what I recall, there are only 4 micro adjustment available in the clasp and after that you will have to add or remove links to size the bracelet properly. If given the choice I prefer to keep as many links in as possible to give the bracelet a little more weight so the watch head is more balanced on the wrist.

The first three links on the Submariner extension side should always remain in the same position, riveted end link, notch link, and "O" link.... any links taken out or added to should always be done after those three.

As has been said; for the extension end spring-bar, it can go into any of the outside 4 adjusting holes...the 4 inside adjustment holes are for the hinge rivet to "snap" into when folded. The three links will move with the clasp extension and always remain in the same position in relation to the clasp..
