PM only collections

Considering doing this to my collection at some point, I have said I am going to post my collection at some point, I only have 2-3 watches around me at one time and I have quite a few! I am thinking about and probably will reduce it and thinking about having a PM only collection. With maybe one or two steel watches.

Wondering if anyone else has done this? My collection is about 20 watches at the moment, and 5 are PM. The PM watches excite me a lot more to wear.

Wondering if anyone else has a PM only collection or done anything similar?

I've got one PM watch; I'm good with that. At the moment I'm not feeling the thrill of PM over SS. There was a time I did but I've had too many nasty comments on the forum made about the Pt Daytona so I've mellowed. I also chose a TT Daytona over a DD simply because I liked it more.

Nasty comments over the PT Daytona? Who could say anything bad about that watch. Its a beast.

These are my 3 PMs I have at home. Rest are in the bank safe.

You are a man of my taste. What other ones do you have? They’re beautiful.

Don’t answer rose gold myself I think the next one I add will be a rose gold pp 5711 which some of the steels will fund. Do you have many steel models as well?

Still a few SS Rolex in my possession. I don’t need the money so I keep them. Maybe one day I will appreciate them more again.

I'll find the link for you man when I get home. Its a nice wooden box with very nice cushions and lining.

Not that expensive as well around $120 AUD so even cheaper in USD. Much much better than some of those ones selling for $300+ with foam internals.

I’ve seen your watch many of times. I own the same one. What comments have you received about it never see people slagging off the PT Daytona. You shouldn’t not wear a watch because other people don’t like it.

Hang in there Lee.

My negative comment would be I can't imagine anyone having a problem with any of our watches.

Speaking for myself not a huge fan of precious metal watch especially in the Rolex range,as except for the metal and price they are basically the same as the SS.

I'm way to tough on watches to consider ever going all PM but would love to have a YG DD or 36mm platinmum masterpiece someday

Sorry, but i never understand people asking to see others collection and not posting theirs. Post pics of the pieces you have around you in your collection, even if it's only a few watches.

Posted plenty in the past, if you wish to check my posts. No sense in posting them twice.

PM only collections

Currently own 2 PM pieces:

The feeling of the extra heft of them versus similar size watches on steel is awesome. I don’ think would have more than 2 PM pieces but many say once you go PM is hard to appreciate SS pieces

Apparently missed those nasty comments about the Platona Lee; where they against you as the owner or against the watch per se? Both should have not occur of course, hope they don’t deprive the pleasure of owning or wearing such a nice watch.

There've been a number specifically aimed at me; I don't understand it. At least one of the posters was banned. Still it was really annoying detracting from both my watch and my enjoyment of the forum.

It’s frustrating when you read people putting on negative comments is it just out of jealousy, as said before I love it when you post pictures of your watch as it’s the one I would genuinely love to own

Jealousy, plain and simple. Plus a few, with mental disabilities! Don't sweat it! You have a badass watch!!!

Stay strong! Few on this forum seem able to limit to one watch. It is impressive that you have.

I have never seen a Platona in person, but the photos that you and others have posted are wonderful.

That's unfortunate. I've always enjoyed your posts and pics of the Platinum Daytona.

I recently sold 2 PM watches. Initially it was to fund another watch but I'm holding off for now. I still have my DD RG Olive and the YG Daytona PN dial. I do still enjoy my SS watches

Only have one PM Daytona at the moment but I’m number one on the waitlist for the next 116508 JM Daytona at my AD. One slot left in my Rolex box. It’s like the missing watch salute
