New Submariner, what do you think?
Now after the release of the booklet/brochures (in a separate post : https://assets.rolex.com/watches/sub...610ln-0001.pdf), I would say it's finally official. The new sub is here.
So what do you think all, first impressions? 6-digit lovers, 5 digit fans? Colors? 41mm Size? Lugs? I have been waiting for slimmer lugs for years and I am quite satisfied. Pretty sure I will spend some money again on the Submariner... |

It's possible this new sub might actually look good on a strap (gasp)

Center links appears to be slimmer and more handsome as well. Shape seems to be different comparing it to previous reference.

I love them all but never warmed up to the thicker lugs, recently sold my 116610 and only wear my 1680 now. Just called my AD and was put on the list for the new one (who knows what that will really yield-ha!)....the thinner lugs won me over.

I don’t think until I see an actual watch with something for reference next to it I will know.
It’s just a render at the moment. Side by side wrist shots first. |

If not PCLs, seems the center links are brushed differently?

That isn't a render, it's actual Rolex material. Now it isn't a real life photo, but that's it, 41mm it is. It aint a big difference but a difference it is, and one in the wrong direction.
Oh well, guess I'll be one of those curmudgeons that holds on to the 11 series watches like those guys that hold unto the five digits. |

Lug to lug length could be longer thus making this more out of reach for guys with smaller wrists.

Looks really good, and the LV is fantastic. Don’t think it’s enough to sway me from my current SubC date, but for anyone looking for a diver or Sub, this is the one to get.

Interesting that it’s now 41mm. The sky-dweller is often referred to as a dinner plate here now it’s practically the same size.

Personally I am happy about the 41mm case size. I have a large wrist and any watch under 40mm looks small on me. I prefer 41mm to 47mm watches. I already have a 5 digit Kermit, a 5 digit pepsi, and a 6 digit ceramic bluesey. I was hoping they were coming out with a ceramic Coke GMT but since that does not seem to be in the cards, I might get in line for the new Kermit to go with my old one.

Looks like they went from the triplock to the twinlock per the Rolex web page; water rating the same as before. Maybe the web page information is incorrect as the crown still shows 3 dots.
