Food for Thought...A Meal for us All

Yesterday... Today... and Tomorrow

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.

One of these days is Yesterday with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.

All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed; we cannot erase a single word said. Yesterday is gone.

The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow with its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and poor performance. Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.

Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds - but it will rise. Until it does, we have no stake in Tomorrow, for it is yet unborn.

This leaves only one day - Today. Any man can fight the battles of just one day; it is only when you or I add the burdens of those two awful eternities - Yesterday - and Tomorrow - that we break down.

It is not the experience of Today that drives men mad - it is the remorse or bitterness for something which happened Yesterday and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.

Let us, therefore, live but One Day at a Time.

Okay. I read your post twice. So, if I get the wife drunk tonight, I might get laid today. Oh man, don't say yesterday as I do not want to waste the beer. Oh no, don't say tomorrow because I might need the beer today. Man, I am so confused.

If you bring beer into the equation, you are going to confuse me as well

Ironically, I rarely drink beer although it used to be my beverage of choice. Now it's all about the wine.

Remind me of a speech I made when I was in elememtary running for student council.

Ladies and Gentlemen.

Yesterday was our pass.

So today is today.

Tomorrow is another day.

Thank you and lets all pray.

Hey, for the last three months I have been studying string theory and worm holes. If I figure anything out I will let you know. Einstein must have understood the theory of everything, as that is the only way he could have understood the theory of relativity, but he never published any papers so who knows. I just have too much time on my hands and way too much beer I suppose.

Too much time on one's hands is a good thing!!!!

I recon we could try to hook up with Dr. Hawking once he recovers from his chest infection. We've got a little subsidiary company in Cambridge that I babysit, so I know a few folks over there associated with the colleges. We could meet up at the old VD Clinic (now Brown's restaurant ), tip a few pints, and see if Dr. Steve could impart any wisdom to you.

Of course, I'd just sit there with a glazed look on my face since me and the calculus never quite connected. But I would make sure that the glasses were never empty which I'm told is a talent of mine

I have a glazed look when my six year old talks. A long long time ago I read an article in Scientific American where Dr. Hawking explained that while time was linear, the durations were of random lenghts. I think that was when my glazing started.
