I got the call, a near impossible incoming from AD

I got the call from my AD yesterday on the last hulk (maybe one of the last ever made) and was lucky enough to get this from my AD. I believe history will judge this piece very favorably and this is and will continue to be greater than the Kermit in all ways (looks, value, appreciation etc...). Yes this is a subjective matter to some degree, but as the new Kermit hype dies down I think most will look back and say Hulk > Kermit. Please share your thoughts.

I know you are excited and I think lucky to get what most certaintly will be the last piece at that particular AD but being better than the Kermit is entirely personal preference

It’s arguable the new one has a better and more usable movement and some may indeed prefer the contour changes.

That green dial is pretty enticing but wasn’t always. It remained unsold for years.

Congrats

Beautiful, congratulations!

I got the last Hulk my AD got about a month ago. I really didn't think I wanted one, it's too much green for me. Or so I thought at first. I wore it around the store while looking at other Rolex and shooting the breeze with my AD, who is a very good friend of mine. About 30 minutes after wearing it I happened to look down and realized I had to have it. It sang to me like no other watch has. I can't give a logical answer for it, it is purely emotional for me. There is something festive about it. While the black Sub is looking for some deep water, the Hulk is looking for the party.

As far as Hulk>Kermit, I am going to be forced to get a Kermit so I can know for sure.

Ironically that is one of the things that factors into collectability for things. Especially Rolex.

I remember not many years ago my AD had a Hulk in the window display and one in the case. I thought to myself at the time, who would buy that thing?

The only reason I passed on the hulk previously was because I was just starting my collection and needed basic non colored watches first.

Very nice. Saw one of these in the preowned case at an AD. Their asking was 22k, ... meanwhile people here decry the grey markets for price gouging

The Hulk is a truly spectacular watch, the green sunburst dial looks far better than any Kermit or Cermit.

like you said subjective....

i personally passed on the Hulk three times. I even passed on it as late as July. I just did NOT like all the green and did NOT like fat lugs all that much, which is why I have not owned a Sub in years.

I do like the new Kermit a lot

I just don’t get the claim to dislike the fat lugs thing. You could put all three styles of sub is in front of me and ask me look at the horrible difference and I swear I wouldn’t know what you were talking about. The green dial thing I get. I understand that some people don’t like it. I don’t like white dials on sports watches. Everyone’s different. But the lugs? I just don’t get it.

Congrats OP. I great luck and I totally agree with what you said. The hulk is definitely the best green watch ever produced by Rolex. Enjoy.

Well done if you really like it,

We have bought three over the years back in 2010 and owned it for a few weeks and was just happy to recover my outlay ,It did nothing for me .

Five years Later I was offered another and bought it and again got my Money Back .

My youngest Bagged a 2020 model this spring and put it straight on a jubilee

This September the 1st I was offered the new version and in my opinion it’s perfect . Buy what you like and be happy that’s all that matters.

Nice pickup, congrats.

Overall I agree with you, Hulk will be just fine for decades to come. That sunburst (sunray?) dial is just so underrated and adds a ton to the watch. I think it's one of those things that people like about the Hulk but just can't quite put it into words.

The last Hulk! I passed on this reference 4 years ago, wasn't for me. But what's important is that you like it.

I don't think it will ever be a collectible watch as there are hundreds of thousands made.

Exactly, of which there were made hundreds of thousands over the years.

Well it is a collectible watch right now, today. So I don’t think we can say it will never be collectible. You could make a strong argument that the value will decrease soon. You can also make a strong argument that if Rolex releases an updated green face/ green bezel then the values will go way down. However, the new model would have to be obtainable for that to happen.

My guess is that Rolex will later produce a Hulk 41. Just put a green dial in, and sell more watches.

I picked my Hulk up this week as well, the last my AD said they would get..I have never seen one in person, just in photos and I am thrilled with it.

Every time I look at the dial it is a different color, from dark green,to light green and then all black depending on the light.

It is like you are getting the Hulk and the new Cermit all in one watch, very cool.

I got the Hulk 2 months before the new release and got the new Kermit almost 2 weeks ago.

I think both of them are equally gorgeous timepiece.
