Incoming SBGJ235 or SBGJ239 - Help!

My wife is surprising me with an anniversary gift - an SBGJ235, or, an SBGJ239. I love them both. Which would you pick? I can only pick one.

vs.

Nice gift! Happy Anniversary.

For me, the SBGJ235. The bracelet, case and dial do it for me.

Both great, but I would go 239. But, is the 237 not an option also (same watch, different colors, on bracelet)?

It would be but it’s too similar to my Rolex BLNR.

237, but I’m a little biased.

If you like lume, get the 239. If you don’t wear your watch to bed, get the 235. I’m biased but I’d still get the sbgj237. I also have a BLNR. ;)

Both great in my opinion. I’d go for the 239. But, wait a minute...so much for the surprise. How’d you find out? Happy Anniversary:)

Well a dealer in Atlanta recently started selling GS so I took my wife there so I could check out the inventory. They had a 237 and a 239, but no 235 (boutique only model). I really liked the 239 so she got worried that I'd go back to the store and buy it. She had already ordered the 235 from the LA boutique, so she had to tell me :). Of course I could swap them out if I want. I've never seen a 235 in person but will soon!

Appreciate the input from everyone!

Happy birthday. 235 by a mile, the other model is very large and looks to seiko mainstream turtle to me. And yes I am biased

You made the right choice! SBGJ235 by a mile, modern interpretation of the iconic 44GS case, that mt. Iwate inspired dial, a boutique edition to boot. Grand Seiko was never known for sports watch, 11/10 would’ve picked 235 myself.

Thanks! That's the one I got - and love it.
