Feedback on rolex 126719BLRO meteorite

Hi, I wanted to see if any pepsi meteorite owners can provide feedback on this watch. Is the dial hard to read in the sunlight? Is it worth the money after owning it? What you like/dislike about the watch? TIA

Thank you for the feedback. My biggest question, how hard is it to tell the time in the sunlight with this dial? I am drawn to the meteorite dial, but I do not know how it will look under direct sunlight outside of pics.

There are a few members that own this piece. I had it on my wrist a short time ago, and was deciding between this and another PM piece. I was very much on the fence after seeing it on my wrist. I chose to stick with the other PM piece (Daytona).
Not because it’s not spectacular, but I wasn’t sure if it was right for my personal style. Believe me...it’s a special piece for many reasons....obvious history of gmt, not many Rolex models receive the meteorite dial, IMO it looks sharp on the gmt and definitely distinguishes it as being something “different” when comparing the PM blue dial, black dial, or SS (love the jubilee though).
For me...it’s one I have experienced...let go...and couldn’t get out of my head!
So in true TRF spirit ...I’m going to get it back.
I realized after seeing it in person, looking at pics from my wrist over and over, getting great feedback from TRF members, I’ll pull it off just fine!
It’s too special for many reasons, like I said, to let it pass me by.

Great thank you for your feedback... Im looking into this watch and might get (I dont do the AD thing so I will pay the small premium). I have a few PM pieces... my wife loves gold on me, but I think something less in your face as white gold might work better for me.

I can’t comment on the gmt but I do own the DD40 meteorite.

So the dial looks basically white most of the time (it’s absolutely gorgeous) the hands are very very easy to read they reflect or kind of mirror the light, so when you point it towards your face the reflection on the hands is very dark. Not sure if I explained that very well but hope it makes sense.

No, I get what you mean. The hands almost acts like a shadow. Thanks for the feedback. How does the dial look when in the shade. Does the dial come more alive?

Absolutely I’m going to attach some pictures for it’s very hard to stop looking at. Actually if you go through the threads I’ve started I uploaded quite a few pics of it on the incoming thread.

P.s thanks Brian never knew that.

Have to add it’s almost impossible to catch it’s a beauty in a photo.

Just had a look at the hands on the meteorite gmt for you and found something interesting - seems they used two different sets of hands, not sure if this a changeover from a year to a year or what, never noticed before.

Pics attached (found on internet not mine)

I thought that at first too Jay. I believe they just photograph that way. They are white gold surrounds, but can almost look black at times in pictures.

I tried one on at my AD and it’s a beautiful piece for sure OP. It depends on whether you like the busier dial or the more “traditional” solid dial color.

⬆️⬆️⬆️ This is correct. Hands just change depending on lighting or angle held.

You can see the hour markers also display that optical illusion (dark vs. light).

+1 it's completely due to the lighting, and a camera doesn't show your eyes what you'd see live

Yes its the light. The one pic is from my local guy I use. Was planning to look at it today, but unfortunately I cant leave with it on my wrist to see if I bond with it unless I buy it. Ive been down the road where I think a watch will be a keeper and realize its just more of it looks nice in pics and not for me.

Dumb question: Is the dial actually from a meteorite?

Its actually a gibeon meteorite that you cannot buy anymore unless its circulating. The meteorite originated in africa and their government protected the sale of new pieces (does not mean it hits the black market). Rolex purchased a good amount if it in the past, but who knows how much supply they do have.
