Classic Gold Dress watch
I am wanting to add one more pice, and I really want a leather strap, classic dress watch in yellow or rose gold.
The A. Lange Sohne Saxonia Thin 37mm in rose is a strong contender. Oddly, the 35mm Saxonia with Subdial might be a close second. Any other suggestions? |

I wear a Bulgari Bulgari in YG. The old 38mm version on a black leather strap. Get tons of compliments.

A PP Calatrava (e.g. ref. 5196 or 5227) or a Lange Saxonia, you cannot go wrong with either of these. Both hit the nail on the head in terms of being the quintessential gold dress watch.

I have a 5196r and find it mesmerising - simple, elegant perfection.
The Saxonia thin also a great contender and I would definitely consider the VC traditionelle - but if you can find it then the ultra-fine 1955. 4.13mm thick, gold movement, two handed understated elegance. |

Breguet 7147 enamel dial is a bit of a different look than the usual suspects.

So many good choices, basically every brand makes a watch in this style, and most of them have been making them for many years.
Some of the Best Buy’s can be from brand like Blancpain, Breguet, Vacheron and many more from the 90s and early 2000s. I’ve seen gorgeous 35-39mm Yellow gold Blancpain watches go for under $5k from not too long ago. Obviously, if you want to spend more and get a current model from any of the top brands, you have the pick of the litter. Lange, as you mentioned is a great choice. |

I know not “classic” but 1815 line adds just a bit more visual interest. I chose U/D Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think that the classic gold watch on leather is a must-have for every watch box.
It's a classic and has stood the test of time for decades. Seamaster.jpg

Used Lange. Their "entry level" watches have amazing levels of finishing. They destroy PP at that price point and used Lange is amazing bang for buck.

Check out vintage gold watches. Doesn’t get more classic than time only mid century pieces IMO.

Agree, very pretty watches, even the 34mm models from way back when. If it doesn't have to be PM lots of these came in steel and are very affordable as a result. At this point my only dress watch is a Patek 3998P but I might add a 34mm rose gold JLC MUT.
