Waiting list for DD40 Everose w/ Olive dial

I've been looking for the DD40 in Everose with the Olive dial from my local AD's and it seems to be an incredibly popular watch now. Even grey dealers doesn't seem to have this model in stock. I was quoted by several AD's that the estimated wait time for this specific model is 6+ months. Has anyone else heard the same?

It's better to wait at your AD than buy it from gray, gray is asking for $45k now.

I was lucky enough to acquire this piece last year before the full gold stuff went crazy. I was even able to score a nice discount on it! Remember those days?!

In recent discussions with my AD that I trust more than any other he expressed frustration at the inability to get even full precious metal watches for good customers.

I talked to my AD a few days ago about this piece and he also said he received a lot of requests but couldn't know when Rolex would deliver.

Supposedly Rolex is decreasing supply of PM pieces to Europe / US as they are diverting them to Asia. So not surprised that a popular config of the Dd40 is becoming harder to get.

I heard the same thing. Seems like the new normal is PM at retail or over!

Have you been to an AD lately? Its not even the RG DD40 Olive. Its ALL precious metal pieces.

There is hardly any to purchase. Its been like this since Covid that is why pretty much ALL and i mean ALL precious metal pieces are selling for at or above MSRP now. Doesnt even matter what model.

I got a RG Olive and RG Choco for $27k back in the day for Brand New. Now they are selling for around $40k in the gray market.

Yes, I was at Alvin Goldfarb the other day and they had a few DD40's in stock; YG w/ silver dial, YG w/ white, and RG w/ chocolate. They also had a PM Daytona and Sub.

Thats actually quite a good selection. My 4 ADs in my city doesnt even have a s single DD40 in stock as of last week.

And if you want a Precious metal sports piece well they said 6+ months wait.

Big big fat ZERO discount as well on all models.

How long ago was "back in the day"? I am just curious, I am pretty new to the Rolex game, bought my first one (a Bluesy) last August.

I bought 2 x RG DD40s since end of 2016 (both purchased at $27k BNIB for Olive and Choco dials) and my YG DD40 end of 2018 which I also purchased for $27k.

YG DD40s are selling >$35k now and RG DD40s > $38k now. I've seen Olive dials and Choco dials sell for higher premium than the regular silver dials etc...Olive slightly more.

If you are in the market for the 228235 olive dial I would buy one as soon possible. And from two AD I spoke with, no estimates for delivery. My guess is it may soon become impossible to order from an AD.

Wow, that was one of the best deal.

Do you mind giving the name of that AD?

Thanks in advance.

15% off? Very very very rare these days. You made the right choice to buy it.

I feel like I bought at a good time -- got ~18% off last year (April / May) on DD 40 YG Silver Romans

I was interested in a SS Daytona. My AD said I needed to purchase a PM piece in order to get a Daytona.. They happened to have the RG Olive DD. Bought the bundle. Never looked back. Good luck. The Olive DD seems to be very popular.

Bad bad time to buy any Rolex imho.

Stock is really really low everywhere around the world. That is having a big impact on all models rising. Grays dont even have stock of many RG DD40s these days and when they do come in they are all close to or above $40k now.

Just wait until next year when the vaccine gets distributed globally and hopefully production ramps up.

I will say all the AD’s by me used to have Day Dates in the case. Now only one of 5 does all the others have them “in the back” with the SS sport pieces.
