WG with olive green dial is gorgeous.

Go to Rolex.com website to see all the available dial for each model.

It’s the only WG DD dial I would buy.

Tried it on today it’s really really nice and not something I would usually go for. It’s my favourite dial, except for the meteorite which I own (another level for me) worth looking into but a bit more expensive.

White gold olive dial, it's my grail watch! Such a beautiful combo!

I am a fan of the white gold olive dial. RE: ordering day dates -- my understanding based on a conversation with my AD who I picked up my YG DD40 last year from is that they can no longer order these.. Seems like they are a lot harder to come by these days given by the high high demand

Specifically the olive dial, or all DD40 in general?

His comment was about my day date (YG DD40 Silver Romans). He basically said 'the day date that I ordered for you last year... I can't even get that anymore for customers I have that are interested'

I would imagine given that -- I'm assuming same holds true for other day date configurations.

Rising tides raise all ships, I suppose

Not saying you’re lying of course, but I do find it hard to believe that a YG DD40 cannot be had pretty easily for £29,000 or whatever they are RRP

I don't have any reason to doubt him as it seems that the PM models are getting harder to purchase these days. You can see posts from members here on TRF indicating so as well.

Surely you could get one of these quicker than you could a SS model. However, I do think that it is relatively harder compared to say a year or two ago.

Yeah, they are very scarce right now. I was told a big reason is the Rolex foundry was closed for the virus and that aspect of production is behind so solid gold models are slower to get out.

Both blue and green are beautiful on the 40mm WG DD; have blue dial on my 36mm DD but would probably choose green on a 40mm DD too

The green dial is great but my first choice would be the white Romans. You can always switch out at some point but Rolex keeps the green dial and charges for the white dial. Plus your card is wrong as to the dial once the change out is completed if that matters. I think Rolex will do a full service with the swap so they want to wait until the warranty is over so they told me when I asked about it.

Yes great watch but take a look at the WG blue dial deconstructed romans too. Sublime in all light at all angles.

I dig the blue dial as well although some folks will argue that it's too similar to a blue DJ 41.

Meteorite. Have seen and tried on the olive. Definitely not for me. I’d do meteorite or dark blue.

I love the WG with Olive dial. In the end the blue version just edged it out for me but come service time, I may try out the olive green. Good news is you can’t go wrong either way.

In my opinion the olive dial works best with rose gold.

White gold works best with the blue dial.

My perfect two DD40s.
