For sale a collection of 6 mens designer watches and glazed maple display case.

All watches are worn regularly and are of varying age but in good condition batteries needed for the OE and GS but are in perfect mechanical condition. The Rolex Daytona is missing the 2 pump pins but these can be replaced at any reputable watch repair store inexpensivly although they will have most likely to be ordered.


The display case itself is in maple board and has a beautiful red glaze which looks the part on anly shelf or unit for those who wish to display there own collections. A doubtless a future antique itself and cost £120.

I reported this one to ebay UK, within a few hours of it being listed. They did nothing. In the last two weeks I have reported over 15 very obvious fakes. 8 of them (Frankly 8 of the more obvious ones) stayed until some poor unsuspecting buyer, lost their money.
I really think ebay are indictable by neglect, they make enough in sellers fees, to police their listings, or at the ver leats, listen when someone does it for them

Hi Tim,

Know how you feel, I have a few on my watch list that have been reported many times and they still are there, these are absolute blatant fakes yet eBay UK still let them ride, initially I thought it was a case of reporting from Australia and the Guys reporting from the US, but if these are still sticking around,even after you ping them and your local, there is certainly cause for alarm that they are making it all the way to a completed sale.

I'll see about this one again now, usually 30 - 45 mins is the average time from them to be removed.

I think ebay have an absolute responsibility to police their listings. The fact that they are too greedy to spend enough money to have sufficient staff to do that, amounts to neglegt.
I beleive threrfore that they are aiding and abetting criminal activity.
It is typical of Ebay, that they disrespect honest buyers and sellers, by allowing the whole market place to fall inti disrepute in this way. Because of ebay's neglect, honest sellers find it much harder to find honest buyers. If Ebay can't run an honest show, they should make the space available for someone who will. Personally, I would like to see them convicted of criminal neglect. It would be a good example.

I'm afraid that Rolex have tried repeatedly to get eBay to police the sale of counterfeit watches and the courts ruled that eBay were sufficiently dong just that, see this article - http://www.jckonline.com/article/CA6641193.html.

I do have to admit that most of the counterfeit items are removed, just a few here and there seems to slip through the cracks.

In a few rare cases I find that there are a few listings that never make it to public view,a listing pops up and as soon as you click on it its removed, but this only happens once in a blue moon while I'll looking.

I'm glad what we do here is assisting the removal, just disappointing when such blatant and transparent scams are ignored :-(

Interesting article. Certainly not the first time, in my experience, that a judge has been convinced someone is doing enough, when in fact they are doing nothing at all!
My sympathy lies entirely with Rolex and other companies who own design rights.
I think that companies such as Ebay, who play fast and loose with other people intellectual rights should be brought to book.
Some of the outrageous fakes and scams that make their way onto ebay, preclude the point of view that they are even looking. Whatever ebay's spin merchants suggest, it seems pretty clear to me , that they act retrospectively, upon complaints, if and when they have time or inclination, and only then, in so much as it does not dent their profits.
