I think I Screwed myself

I am waiting for a Hulk, Batman, or white face Daytona. My AD texted me today that she got in a Milguass and a Airking and if I would like to go in and buy one. Well I don’t like those models and Im not a rich man so I turned them down. I hope I didn’t screw myself with my AD..

You made the right decision. Otherwise, you will be screwed when your AD calls you next week with your long awaited model.

Agreed!!! Guys I keep saying this, you are all consumers and you vote with your dollars. The sooner everyone stops treating these AD’s as some sort of demigod the sooner things go back to some form of normalcy. The idea you have to wine and dine and AD or suck their **** just to get a watch is retarded. This is a watch, why are we all so wound up about a little piece of metal that has a brand name on it?!?!?!

Do you have any purchase history with this AD? If not, don’t hold your breath waiting for any of those. Not sure what’s less likely, the Hulk or white Daytona. Batman...maybe.

My guess is that with this single purchase, you aren’t likely to get any of the 3 you want anytime soon and by buying one of the watches she’s offered you, you’ll be a bit closer, but not that close. Hope I’m wrong, but that’s how I see it.

Personally I wouldn’t buy them if I didn’t want them.

Its okay to refuse politely to your AD or else they would think they can just milk you if they need a sale before sending their monthly sales to the main office. Just stick to what you want and eventually you'll get it. Because same thing happened to me and still managed to get what I want eventually.

Don't get suckered into the games that AD's play. Don't buy a watch that you have no intention of wearing. Be honest with them, and let your SA know what you are looking for.

From my experience if you are up front and honest with your SA they will be honest with you. They will either let you know if they can get the watch you are looking for or not. If they can't get it, then it's up to you how bad you want it. Pay a premium, go grey and have it on your wrist the next morning.

Buy what you like

Hulk is discontinued unless they switched you to the new Kermit

Hard to say if turning down milgauss and AK will impact your ability to get your desired 3 watches because don’t know your relationship or purchase history

I think I Screwed myself

Never buy something you don’t want. If you feel forced to bundle and buy a bunch of stuff you don’t like, just go out and buy what you want from a Grey dealer. Same difference! $

You did not screw yourself.
What you DID do is NOT screw the guy who REALLY wanted the watch you rejected.

Brilliantly said! Exactly. And the person you also helped was yourself for not settling!

You did the right thing by not playing the AD game and made your point at the same time. Don't second guess yourself, either way she'll call you or not.

I’m sure you’re fine. You’re either going to get the watch or not. They likely don’t care about you not buying the others. They were probably sold in the next phone call they made.

Agreed with the sentiments here. Buy what you want. Watches you don’t like and won’t wear are expensive no matter what the price.

You did the smart move. Buying those pieces you would be losing money flipping to a gray so that is a losing game.

Just wait or stomp up the money on the gray market.

Your question is really, did the AD expect you to take a lesser model, after selling you a Sub/Date .

The AD will always offer watches you didn't request. Turn them down and they know you are not a collector / buyer. They will keep you on the list and who knows when your dealer will call with an unspoken for watch you desire. Always depends on the market you are in. If you are in TX then Dallas probably the most difficult market compared to other markets.

looks like you got bumped down the waiting list. 5 more years for you.

Don't play their games. Get what you want.
