Pick One - ROC 38mm v. DaytonaC

WatchTime magazine’s latest issue briefly does a comparison. Their thesis was that given the secondary market value/hype of the DaytonaC, it might make sense to put a little cash on top for the ROC.

All things being equal, which would you choose? Will set this as a poll, but all comments welcome.

Not even close. In person ROC trumps the Daytona all day long. At MSRP Daytona is a great deal and I would buy it. AP ROC is more comparable to the gold Daytona.

Agree totally, not even close. And I have the 116519 which i love, but if i had to choose between it and the AP, I’d go AP.

ROC no question unless the Daytona was a SS at MSRP

If it’s at market price, definitely the ROC. Voted ROC.

The black dial Daytona is an excellent all rounder.

For fans of SS chronos, both have their merits to be in a collection.

In house movement someday would push ROC to the stratosphere for me.

As much as I’m an AP fanboy, I had to go with the Daytona. There’s just something about the white dial on the 116500 that always, always makes me smile.

That said, the 38mm ROC’s are stars as well.

I imagine if this poll was in the rolex section that the results would be the opposite

Can't have a date at 4:30... No date on it and I'd have voted ROC.

I have both of these watches. If I could only have one it would be the D5. It’s more wearable. I’d want the Daytona to wear and the ROC to look at.

I think we all agree that the SS Daytona is a fantastic watch and a classic. But the question is would you pick a SS Daytona at $28,000?

This new 38mm is pretty special, if I had to choose in between I would have to go with the ROC but as an enthusiast, these are both some of the best from both brands, gotta own both.

Funny I think that 38 is too small for me and I love daytonas

No question that the Daytona is overpriced right now second hand tho that said, not sure I'd sell mine for $28k so I guess maybe the market is correct?

At the same price = AP. At RRP = Daytona (by miles)

I’ve got Daytona but if I could only have two watches these two would be pretty close to that although for me it would be 41mm.

I own both the 116500 white and the 41mm (26331ST) chrono.

I don´t honestly know what to answer to this one....
Both please!

At MSRP, 116500ln Daytona white dial is the best buy.

At Grey, 26331st is more reasonable price than Daytona.

Agreed.

Waiting for the in house chrono movement to make it into the ROC. Would definitely change my feelings about it. Still don't love the date placement though.
