Advice on this GMT 16718

Hi fellow Rolex forum members,
I am seeking your advice on this 16718 currently for sale.

What I see is:
- dial looks original
- ding at 12 and 8 on the bezel
- good case (unpolished or refurbished?)
- high price

Do you guys think it is a worthwile purchase? I am wondering
1. whether the price is not too high?
2. whether the case is original and unpolished, or may have been refurbished (by professionals like LAWatchWorks)

Many thanks!

Head only? No accessories?

The price is optimistic but not outrageous, considering price of gold lately has been strong.

It’s a beautiful example. The case looks refinished to me (or at least cleaned up to prep it for sale). But nicely done and to a high standard. For me, not a problem.

No bracelet, but "box" and some papers.
=> so oaky-ish price?

I think price is fair, but I would like to see a bracelet, or at least a more suitable replacement. I would source the cost of a bracelet and adjust offer accordingly.

Lack of a bracelet would kill the deal for me at that price. Agree with GST15; deduct the cost of a correct replacement bracelet and make an offer.

It's weird being the same age as old people.

You need a bracelet to go with it.

Missing bracelet might mean watch was a daily beater (hence the case treatment) and gold is oh so soft.

If you go gold, go full gold, otherwise 16753 will hold its value better and is much cheaper.

Quand mźme, jah d'or...

There’s a lot to be said for the double quick set and dual time on the 16718 over the 16753. It’s quite a handy upgrade. Especially for a regular traveler who plans to wear it regularly.

The bracelet question is a very personal one. I find them just a bit too much gold, and prefer to dress them down with leather. But I totally understand the logic, especially if you’re interested in resale. These are slow to sell at the best of times, and especially so head only.

The bracelet is worth half the cost of a solid PM piece

Love the watch. Prices have gone up. The lack of a bracelet would not kill the deal for me, but. . . I'd be using it in negotiations.

Here is my 167188 on super jubilee. Probably my favorite watch.

Thanks a lot guys, very useful advice.
Personally, I prefer the look of the watch on a strap, looks more understated and « wearable » to me.
However, I have duly noted that this is not a watch that is easy to sell, especially head only.
I guess it probably should go for a price closer to 15k€?

Interestingly, there is another 16718 for sale at next Antiquorum Monaco sale (lot 85).
>> condition seems not as good as the first one of this thread ?
>> but price estimate is similar ...
