Just arrived - Pulled the trigger on a trade-in

For 2 years now, I've enjoyed my 155000St Black dial timepiece (the case, hour batons, AP logo "popping out" against the black dial). The problem of working from home is that there is more time to ask "what if" - that is, "what if the blue dial is even more beautiful". So with the black dial piece currently appreciating at the similar pace as the blue (not waiting until the diff gets too big), I went for a trade in+cash. I was still holding my breadth if I had made a mistake, but seeing it upon its arrival yesterday ... it is a KEEPER.

Excellent choice. As you are fortunate enough to have landed this specimen, would you capture the dial at different angles and lighting for those of us who haven't seen one?

Is the 15500 blue slightly darker than the 15400 ?

Hi, Unfortunately, I would not know how it compares to 15400, but I was indeed pleased the dial has a dark blue hue. There may be some thread or review comparing those two models.

Saw this at Hodinkee comparing 15500 vs 15400. They look very very similar.

The 15450 in this picture is scaled up relative to the 15400 - sizewise, the difference is very obvious IRL.

Thanks for sharing. I have other brands but since I purchased the black 15500 in early 2019, it had been my daily wearer up until the start of the pandemic. I have no doubt this blue 15500 will become my daily wearer when we get out of this unfortunate global pandemic. Stay in good health.

Same here, I had a 15703 Diver and got the 15500 blue as I threw the Diver to service last November. Initially thought the 15500 was too 'quiet' and too fragile. The 15703 was a real tool watch that I could wear it all the time. The 15500 felt like jewelry and I was fearing any scratches. It grew up in me and my last try with the ROO felt 'gross' and all over the place. Now I wear the 15500 on daily basis...

Very nice to hear about how the 15500 grew on you and I look forward to when we get back to some semblance of old normalcy.
