2 watches which one? Breitling MB or Rolex Exp II

I need a new watch, trying to decide between
D series Explorer II for $2500 no Coa but I know it's real.
Or
Breiltling Montbrillant w/SS bracelet with Coa/box etc
$2200

Both are in great condition.
Is the Explorer II a no brainer?

Is this the 38mm Montbrillant? If so, I'd take the Explorer II.

I would prefer the Explorer, but I suppose it all depends on which watches you already have, your taste, etc., because Breitling is also a reliable brand.

Do you need a chrono or a gmt hand? I love the Ex2, want to get one in fact. But the Navitmer bracelet is far superior than the oyster bracelet. Overall the Montbrillant is a nicer watch. I would try to get the seller down to 2000.

This is a very pro Rolex forum, most are going to tell you to get the Ex2, most of them have never handled or even know what a Montbrillant is.

This would be my only nice watch.
The Breitling is 38mm and water resistent to 30m. It does wear bigger than 38mm though. I usually don't swim with my nice watches (had many of both brands in the past).
I am leaning towards the Exp II since it's definetely more rugged, and I believe the MB has a mineral crystal which I assume is easy to scratch, chip, etc..
The MB's bracelet is hands down better and I like the way it looks, maybe I can get both.. but probably not...

Thanks for the advice.

At that price you could always flip the ex2. Would be a no brainer for me.

These watches are so different that it's tough to even answer.

The MB is beautiful. The EXP is beautiful and simplistic.

Depends on the look you're going for

Rolex. Breitling's don't really hold their value plus their movements aren't in house...

Oh I was shopping for a Breitling Super Aveger Black Steel a couple of weeks ago and tried on a few other Breitlings as well but they didn't do anything for me. I'd take the explorer II anytime of the day.

I really like Breitling . . .

However, you should buy the Explorer for this main reason:

If you don't like it, you can always flip it for the Breitling at a later time.

Buy the Breitling and good luck flipping it for the Explorer. It's not going to happen.

Although I like some Breitlings, I find many of their dials a bit too complicated (I'm assuming that the watch you're looking for has a Navitimer-type dial). So I'd pick the Exp 2 because of its cleaner looks. My preference is for the black dial.

And the resale value of a brietling sucks big time ..... ROLEX is a a bag of honey that always attracts flies ......you will be safe with ROLEX EX ... more safer if it were a SUB but EX is not bad
