I ordered an Explorer

I called the AD I bought my Black Bay 58 from today and asked if she could get me an Explorer. She said she could but it would probably take a couple of months? Maybe I will get my stimulus checks but that time to help pay for it,lol.

I’m in the UK but I’ve been on the list for 4 months now, my purchase history with my AD is also a BB58

Good luck!

While I am sure there was no ill intent in this joke, the suggestion that you are using your fellow taxpayers’ money to purchase your next Rolex is perhaps not as funny/tactful as you might have imagined.

That said, I hope you get your watch.

Me too, I’ll spend about 75% of mine on hookers and blow, then I’ll just waste the rest.

Isn’t stimulus money designed to...stimulate...the economy? Therefore, are certain classes of goods considered more favorable to use stimulus funds to purchase than others?

Why?
Everyone gets the check. What difference does it make what he does with it. The American people, ie, him, and especially those who can afford Rolex, will end up paying that back any way in multiples.

I watched this video(below) yesterday. It is what inspired me to call my AD and ask about getting an Explorer. Not as lucky this time as when I called her about the Tudor Black Bay 58 in December and she said "One just hit the case 10 minutes ago!" lol.

Someone on another forum told me: "The current version is discontinued. It is the last model with the old, most say better, movement. The new explorer will be launched in April. Rolex stops shipping the old model about this time. So, if you want one, it may be the new one you get."

Shouldn't take long, I got mine last year. Had to send in my SD43 in because it was running slow. While there taking care of that, I asked my AD about the Explorer and she disappeared to the back only to come back with a fresh one. Said it had just come in and the guy that was on deck for it passed. I took it right then and there. One of my all time favorites! You're going to love it. It's pure class and simplicity. I don't understand why it isn't more popular to be honest.

13 months and still waiting for my Explorer 1 in the UK, despite having purchased 7 watches and a ring from the AD over the last 5 years. Maybe time to look elsewhere!

I hope you get it soon. I keep going back and forth between the explorer and an OP. Can’t decide. I like the fact the explorer has the better clasp.

LOL to everybody who qualified for the stimulus: should you really be spending money on luxury watches?

Completely agree.

That aside, I hope you get a chance to pick one up. Bought mine in 2019 and still wear it everyday.

I have an Explorer. I love it, but it wasn't the watch that did this. Just a way to sell more watches.

I picked up my Explorer last weekend from an AD in South East England. I was on the list for roughly 4 months. The Explorer is simply a beautiful, classy timepiece that will get better with age. The bezel and the dial/hands give it a subtle “pop” but it’s still totally under the radar.

Good luck on your hunt. It’s a great watch. You’ll enjoy it for many, many, years.
