How to sell, ship a Rolex?

Hi Everyone

From thouse who sold and shipped a Rolex. Please share how you did this. My biggest worry would be.

1. It getting ripped off while in travel going from the post office to my buyer.

2. How should payment work. I am not OK with sending it then waiting for the person to pay. I am sure the person is not O.K with paying me and waiting for the watch.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Protocol is to ship the watch after payment has been received and funds have cleared.

Have I always done this...no. There are some collectors/people that I have done business with that I trust without question. These are collectors well known in the community whose reputation and friendship are without question.

At a certain level in this hobby you will know who these people are.

My prefered method of shipment is USPS registered. Slow. but by far the safest way.

Good luck.

Yes I agree with USPS registered. I know that there have been big debates on the best service but USPS registered is the only way I will go. The Hope Diamond was sent to the Smithsonian registered mail so I guess that is good enough.

USPS Registered is the way to go and the PO can do it Priority for a few extra $ so it gets there in 2-3 days not a week or more.
