Trying to find a Smurf at an AD?
Hi Guys
Finally I might be in a position to acquire my grail ‘Smurf’. I’d rather buy from an AD than grey. Maybe a silly question but are ADs still likely to hold stock of a discontinued model? Are they even allowed to hold stock of something that’s new but discontinued? I assume ‘yes they are’ so next silly question is does anyone in UK know an AD with a Smurf? Thanks |

Unless an AD is holding one back for the future perfect customer, whatever that means to that AD, they are sold out as new from ADs.

The only way I can imagine a discontinued 116619 BNIB would be at an AD is if the owner/manager was holding it for appreciation purposes.
Yes, an AD can offer one for sale out of their inventory despite it becoming discontinued. It doesn’t violate their distributor contract with Rolex. As for locating one across the breadth of the UK, my only thought is to reach the Rolex importer for your country (here it is Rolex USA). You need to rely on your chatting-up skills and ask if they can look at their shipments to ADs. They would know which models went where - then persuade them to do a “stare & compare” of the 116619 serial numbers that have yet to be activated. It sounds far-fetched but it is the only quick way compared to phoning each AD using the locator on the Rolex SA website. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
