Brushing Daytona lugs and PCLs — LAWW still the right guys?

Thinking of getting the lugs and PCLs on my Daytona-C brush-finished. I haven’t seen any posts about doing it in a while. Is LAWW still the best option or is there now a better route?

Also, anyone have experience getting such a watch serviced by Rolex? Do they insist on “correcting” the finish or outright reject the watch?

Maybe also look into another watch that is finished how you like it. AP chrono or oysterflex Daytona if the PCLs are no good for you.

I've seen an all-brushed Daytona before on TRF. Search and you will see. It's a flashy watch by nature.

I figured I could return it to normal with little lost for 500-600 more but honestly never had any trouble when I went to sell. Everyone knows LAWW does quality stuff and there’s always a buyer for a Daytona. Cheapest watch you can buy.

LAWW can do it for you. Rolex will return it to it's original for and charge you for it, or you can send it back to LAWW and have them service it.

But say I don’t want Rolex to polish is back to stock, but I do want them to service the watch—will they?

No. If it was just the bracelet, you could remove it and just send the head. But since the head is modified, they'll polish it back to its original state.

I'm surprised by this. When I had my sub serviced at the Denver Rolex Service center, I specifically asked not to have it polished, and they accommodated my request. Perhaps the difference is I didn't have it "modified." Personally, I prefer the brushed SS look, If I had a Ceramic Daytona, I would defiantly do that.

Yeah, I would have assumed it’s fundamentally no different versus asking them not to polish a scratched case.

Yes, they will.

They do not arbitrarily "put things back to original", contrary to what is frequently said on the Forum.

There are occasions where the word doesn't get to the tech whose sole job is refinishing, but treat all watches the same as any "no polish" request.

I've never heard of anybody getting a modified watch retuned with the modifications still in tact. Perhaps they make a mistake and don't notice I suppose. I don't see how a brushed case would be treated any differently than a PVD case.

Rolex would insist on bringing it back when service times comes.
By that time you probably reversed it already yourself.

My thoughts. I’ve seen one I thought it looked not good. Really downplays it’s though If that’s what you want.

This is an interesting subject. If it’s your
Watch/property why does Rolex care what you do as long as it’s cosmetic and you don’t open it. I recently bought my wife a DJ with fluted bezel and diamond numeral IV. She wasn’t entirely happy with fluted bezel so we popped on an inexpensive aftermarket diamond bezel to bling it up a bit. Then when we were back to the AD for my daughter our SA saw the watch and said she couldn’t have it serviced by Rolex anymore. Was kind of surprised by that. So good thing we have the original bezel that we would put back when service is needed.

My wife is all freaked out now about voiding the warranty. Which I still don’t see how a bezel should affect the warranty on the movement.
