Incoming 116900

My first Rolex! And some celebratory sushi I chose this one precisely because most people don't like it. Plus I love the color scheme...Name: RolexBox.jpg

My Air King on the day it was bought in pre-owned mint condition.

It's now on a short trip at the RSC! Gratz on your purchase!

Why the trip to the RSC? Any mechanical issues?

Nope, 0 issues just wanted to get a water resistance check and regulated (or check) just in case. It wasn't running fast or slow or anything, at least to my knowledge, just wanted to have a complete peace of mind.

Ok, cool. I was asking because I got my AK in 2019 and it has run great. The winding is as smooth as butter and runs within specs. I put mine on the Everest rubber and it's so comfortable and looks great. Also, the Oyster bracelet is safely stored away and will look like new if I change it in the future. It was my first Rolex as a gift to myself on my retirement. Love it for being so different from the others.. Congrats and enjoy, you're going to love it..

Love it, dial is fantastic to say the least. Thanks and glad to see another AK owner enjoying it.

Wears a little heavy, but to me that's a plus!

Thanks for the warm welcome and kind words everyone! I saw it on a green Everest band which looks amazing, once the excitement wears off IŽll consider a change, in the meantime going to enjoy this and start saving up for another one. This watch stuff is addictive :D

The 116900 is a very special Rolex. Love how left-field and unorthodox it is compared to the Rolex watches we used to see around. Rolex DNA with extra special X factor. Congrats OP, you've got yourself a fantastic watch just a few days before its possible discontinuation/model update! This watch is going to be collectable one day.
