wait times on Platinum DD
Has anyone had an issue with wait times for the platinum day date 40? I know we are in this dumb hysteria, but when I do dabble in looking at Rolex prices across the board, they seem to be inline with what a retail watch goes for you.

Saw one in a case a while back. Was also told by my AD they can order that for me no issues. I honestly don't know if that's changed any though in the last few weeks.

My AD mentioned to me they get one platinum DD a year now and they are a large volume store so I would think they would be hard to get. At least that's the case in Canada.

I mentioned I wanted one to my AD last week of December. He told me he'd get me one in 2021 but had no idea when.
It arrived mid-March. No purchase history with the AD (but then did get a date sub from him early March). I love it. One of the few references where I love FIVE of the dials, so that caused me a little bit of selection paralysis at first. Usually only one dial per reference sings to me. |

Many great dial options for the 228206. My preference is below, but the meteorite, diagonal motif, and ice blue baguettes are also amazing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was going to say the same thing. Visited David’s store the other day and Jose who helped me purchase my Sub from them also said he can source a piece if I need something specific. 11/10 experience there at DSW. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not a hard watch to source. Much more difficult to pay for.

I have a friend that bought a pre-owned (1 year) but still looks brand new for mid $50k. He said that it was a good deal. What is MSRP for this timepiece?

If not at an AD, you can find brand new at a few reputable/respected grey dealers for close to msrp.

Where are you in the UK? Goldsmiths, in the Trafford Centre (Manchester) had one in the window just before “lock down”.

These watches are also through the roof.
USED plat DD40s over $60k now. PPl say they are easy to get, mostly fluff. These are going up in price weekly along with the Plat Daytonas as well. IF you can get one for MSRP go buy it now. PPl paying new prices for used pieces these days. |

Deposit placed 12/30/2020 ice with baguettes, AD estimated 4-6 weeks, still waiting. He has 19 deposits for gold Day-Dates he cant fill. You can add PM watches to the current insanity.

Wow 19 deposits? This makes me sad since I just did the same with my Ad about a month ago. They did tell me that they only allow 1 per metal type to be ordered at any given time. So hopefully my wait won't be too long.

I waited a year for my last YG DD 40, that's the disadvantage of maintaining a relationship, but scoring my Blue Sky and the other tough stuff at MSRP is the icing that makes it all worthwhile.

These are not “easy” to obtain and the baguette bezel references are quite unobtainable. |
