BB 58 in Taupe

Surprised nobody is talking about this. Seems to me the most handsome of all the new releases - Rolex and Tudor combined. The taupe matte dial and bezel is just so different. IMO - Bravo! Now if my AD can get me one...

It's certainly a different take on the BB. Bet it's a stunner in person.

I'd have to see that one in person.

I need to see the light play off the finish.

I think that might make it come alive.

It looks kind of lifeless on the website.

It looks great on this one picture:

But in most other shots, I would say it looks faded and lifeless. That, and the fact that it's entirely brushed. I really think that is a major miss. The BB58 really shines in its nicely polished sides and bevel. This variant lacks that, unfortunately, plus even the crown seems to be dull somehow.

Will have to see in the metal but my personal feeling is that the taupe is a nope.

I think being brushed is this watch's strength. Its SO different than the polished bling of other BBs and Subs. Its like a pair of jeans, not a three-piece suit.

Agreed, the all brushed surface along with daring choice of color make it really standout.

Just handled one at an AD in NJ--the silver is outstanding and there's a significant luster to it. Personally, I was a bit let down by the taupe coloring as it was a bit too light for me. That said, if the thing came on a bracelet it would be on my wrist right now.

I think you really nailed it in terms of the visual effect.

It looks particularly good on that strap, too.

I have the BB36, which I like an awful lot, so the other BBs haven't really bitten me much, especially since I own a 14060M, which is the perfect diver for a non-diver like me.

We don't have much of that in NM, do we?

I could have, but the pictures I'd seen at the time I posted that comment were lifeless or washed out, if you will.

Later pictures, reveal that it is likely a stunning combination of colors, even if it it is subtle.

I still think that it's only likely to be fully appreciated in person.

Maybe, I hope to see one in Chicago next week, no Tudor ADs here in NM.

It's a cool watch imo. Just wish they did a full pm braclet.

I like the BB 58 silver. Interesting concept, the use of silver in a classic dive watch design, and the taupe dial and bezel make an interesting color scheme. It's not a retro piece, but some like the look of so-called "Tropical dials"--the pantina on old dive watches. I suspect that could be the inspiration of this color choice.

I have the Black Bay 58 in Blue, my only Tudor, and maybe it could use a brother...

BB 58 in Taupe

Already told my AD to give me a call to look at when it comes in. I have to see the silver in person. If it has the lustre I am imagining it does, I will likely buy it on the spot. Not 100% sure as the household already has 2 BBs. My ETA blue and the wife’s 58N

I think this may be the winner of the 2021 releases - it's a stunner.

Imagine it's a piece that you have to see in person for full effect.

This will win the gpgh challenge. No one is doing 925 silver cases.

Not a fan. It’s not “chic.”

I still like the BB58 blue though...that’s a winner.

I love that it's silver. Super cool and probably the most interesting release today.

But if it is brushed then no one will be able to complain about hairline scratches on it.

I bet the 58 in silver is going to be a hit. It’s gotta be a versatile piece on the wrist with that dial. I imagine it on an anthracite Tropic strap, bet it would look killer.

Cool watch!

Has a Platinum PM vibe, at SS prices. The Patek Calendar and some other platinum watches, rings have a similar mate finish.
