Passed on the new Tudor chrono

Passed on the new Tudor chrono, as it didn't sing to me like I thought it would. Lack of taper on the braclelet and the overall thickness were a turn off, even if I already own the BBN ETA, which is the thickest of the Black Bay bunch...I guess I just expected it to be a bit more slim after all these years.

I also didn't like how the indices, hands and dial all kind of blended together. The contrast in the reverse panda is much better, though it was already spoken for when I got there. I think I'd still pass on it because of the reasons mentioned above though.

Was hoping this chrono would be the one to add to the collection and throw on a leather strap, but it was not meant to be. The hunt continues, and with me recently selling my old Snowflake, I might look into a 1680 / 5513 as the watch-on-leather option in my collection.

Nice looking watches but these things are still really, really chunky.

Biggest negative of the Tudor BB Chrono and the Zenith Chrono Sport... the thickness, specifically the massive vertical gap between the dial and the crystal.

Biggest negative is that they make these designs to capitalize off of the you know what watch, which to me screams of laziness and is more or less taking advantage of the lack of supply of the daytona market. Nobody wants a tudor or zenith chrono if they can get the daytona. If they don't get the daytona then is this really going to satisfy some?

I wear the bb gmt daily and although I like the watch for various reasons, I can't help but at times think this is a homage and I think market performance has suffered due to it.

This is not entirely true. I had a Daytona, couldn’t get rid of it fast enough. I now have a Zenith and completely dig it. I had a white 500 and found it to be one of the least legible watches I have ever owned, and it wore small on my wrist as well. The new Chronomaster (black this time) is sized right, way more legible, and to me, debatably more sporty.

Love the new Black Bay Tudor Chrono ! Although it does seem to pay homage to it's more illustrious big brother the Daytona, I believe it has it's own character and can stand on it's own. Both are winners but I think I prefer the Panda. Hopefully I'll get to check one out soon!

They are stuck using Breitling's movement. Would have been better if Tudor created their own movement that allowed for a thinner construction.

Besides being too thick and clunky, other major design faults: large snowflake hour hand obscures subdials, white hands on a white background = poor visibility (at least give them a black outline?), still suffering from an awkward clasp without tool-less microadjust...

At least the price is attractive, but frankly I'd rather put that $5k - $6k into a better piece.

But hey, it's CHIC!

That's my thinking as well - I'd rather be completely happy with my watch by spending 10k than content with it because it was only $5k but didn't hit everything I was looking for.

!
The breitling b01 caliber is only 0.65mm thicker than the Rolex 4130 and the development of a in house chronograph caliber is way more difficult than one in house simple automatic. The chronograph is probably the most difficult movement for a company to manufacture .

Did you try fitting it above the wrist bone, as it’s designed to be worn, it would have likely been a more pleasant fit. Watches seem to be worn by many lately for Instagram pics. vs. function and comfort. 41mm X 50 mm cases need a min 7in wrist from my experiences . Too big for my 6/3/4 wrist. Love the design however. Wanted the Chrono but due to sizing issues ordered the BB925 instead.

I own the Tudor BBN ETA and wear it on a RubberB pretty much exclusively. I love that watch, thickness and all.

I guess I'm just looking for something a bit different in terms of case size / shape / height.

I also wear my watches where they're most comfortable for me, and I like them as seen in the picture. Whether above or below the wrist bone doesn't change the height of the watch; it's just a tall movement and case.

I couldn't disagree more.

Who said the watch was designed to be worn above the wrist?

You, I suppose--Captain of the Wrist Patrol.

I wear all my watches loose as a goose and that's the most comfortable way in my humble judgement.

Very clean and attractive looking dial, IMO. Probably due to its black-white design and symmetry.

I really liked the white at first but i wish the hands and indices were black like on the Exp II. Would give it better legibility IMO.

I tend to agree with this. But still a beautiful watch.

At this time with everything else I read you're up to, you're a tough sell. Something will really have to excite you, to get that wallet open, I'd bet!

Haha, I'm just happy I was able to try it on before buying it. I'm trying to plan more vacations, and the watches can wait until I'm in love with them before just jumping in.

I know it’s hard trying to get the look of watch on the wrist without sizing but agree with others, op- did you try wearing watch above/proximal of the wrist bone?
