Yacht master question
Hey all, I’m looking to join the Rolex club very soon and the watch I’ve had my eye on is the 40mm yacht master with the rhodium dial 126622. I have to 2 questions regarding how I could attain it with no ad purchase history
1. Can I walk into an AD and place a deposit for one and be guaranteed that I will get one or is the watch already so popular that it’s like playing the sub or Daytona preferred client game 2. If the answer above is that you can place a deposit and get one relatively easily, what type of waiting time would I be looking at (2 months, 6 months, 1 year?) I live in Arizona btw Thanks |

Make an appointment with an AD, tell them the model you want, tell them the timeframe you want it (to celebrate your birthday or whatever), offer a deposit.
If your timing is reasonable, you'll get it... no problem. |

You can put down a deposit, but...
1. Talk to all the ADs in your area. 2. You're new to TRF. Spend some time reading all the threads and opinions on this subject. After that and talking to your local ADs, report back. |

Hey Nick, I'm in Scottsdale as well. Try the Chandler AD, I think you may have some luck there.

Talk to a few AD's near you and let them know you would like the rhodium YM for your first Rolex. They will probably be happy not to hear Daytona, GMT, Sub, etc. I wouldn't think you'd have an extremely long wait.
Great choice BTW! |

Yacht master question
126622 does not seem to have much premium, if any, on grey market so chances at finding one at an AD are high.
Visit all ADs around you and tell them what you want. Call or email the others within 3-4 hours radius. Follow up/stop by once a month to check in. I would not place a deposit as that will limit you to one AD. Thats at least what I would do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Like you, the 126622 Rhodium dial is the object of my obsession and I'm excited to own one. Like many folks on here, I absolutely refuse to pay a penny over msrp for any watch. So, while I'm anxious about the wait time, I'm confident (simply because its a YM) that my AD will be able to deliver.
I have a decent purchase history, but a looooong gap between purchases, so I feel as though I'm starting over with my AD. First order of business was to take my GMT II in for an $800 service and start the conversation with a new SA. I briefly explained my hiatus (kids, work, life, and etc) and let him know that I'm in a position financially to start rebuilding the relationship and purchase 2-3 pieces per year. He assured me that a YM was achievable and he could have it for me in 3-6 months. I offered to pay in full right then and there, but was told no money down was necessary. I'm hopeful, but not extremely confident. It's been a month, a long month, but I'll keep waiting. I dropped in this past weekend to inquire about the new Tudor chrono and placed an order for the black dial. Again, I was told it would be a bit of a wait. I explained that I'm trying to buy some other pieces I like to back up my promise of buying 2-3 watches per year. But I also made it clear that I wasn't interested in buying something that didn't speak to me. For now I'm waiting on two watches and I'm not sure what the outcome will be. But hopefully I'll have them both before the end of summer. Good luck to you!

You should totally be able to get one without a purchase history if you try a few ADs. It’s a sports model but not extremely highly desired. I bought one a month ago but it was offered to me.

After I receive this YM and the Tudor Chrono, I’m going to immediately ask for a z-blue dial Milgauss. I love that my tastes are odd enough that I don’t have to go too crazy over the hype pieces. But if ever I do desire one, I’m hoping that my history of a YM and a Milgauss opens some doors for me. As of this time though, I really don’t desire any of the other SS models. I already own a GMT that I love. I could see myself getting a sea dweller one day though. |

A. He actually can sell you something and maybe start a relationship - remember that for many ADs it's incredibly frustrating having to constantly deny watches to existing and new clients B. Every watch sold helps him keep his AD status with Rolex - Rolex knows hot watches will be sold my even the worst ADs in the channel, so it's looking at what ELSE an AD can sell Good luck and report back - I just checked your choice out of curiosity and I would also go for this one over the most popular models. Also looking at DJ 36mm with Wimbledon dial. But hey, given a choice I picked 5712 and not 5711, I like non-standard things :-) |

I think as long as you don’t strut into a Rolex AD and tell them you’d like Any Daytona , Sub or Skydweller but choose one option, you will stand a good chance . Other than the super hot models you can find an SA to tell your story to and realistically receive that watch . I do think you can get that watch . Good Luck !

That is a great watch but not hard to get. Not long ago I was still seeing these in the case. You can also go grey on this piece because its not really over msrp

I think most ADs would be happy to help you with this one without you having to wait too long.
If you walk in and tell them that this is the only watch you're interested in I reckon you'll have it on your wrist within 4-5 months |
