Store Rolex in a watch roll or white hard box

Please do you know if it's better to store a Rolex watch in a watch roll instead of the white hard box that the watch is shipped with from Rolex ?
My question is for the bracelet. Overtime will it get damaged if it's staying for a long time in the white hard box from Rolex ? Or is it better to store the watch in a watch roll for the bracelet ? Or it doesn't make any difference ?
Thank you

How long do you intend to not wear the watch?

I wear my ss gmt only. The other watch I have I'm not wearing it because with the pandemic I feel it's a little risky at the moment and the climate is not as nice as before to wear a pm piece. I'm not comfortable wearing it.

I use a small round hard nylon covered case that I buy on eBay for a very few cents.
I store, travel and just use these cases for all my watches

Better yet is the Watchpod that will protect the bracelet and caseback of the watch, the one you have here will have the bracelet moving around causing microscratches.

Your watch will not know or care however its stored and as for the bracelet its made from one of the toughest materials known to man SS.And can assure you SS is far tougher than any material found in any box or watch roll.Watches are meant to be worn and enjoyed, but if stored for long time just a small manual wind once a month or so just to keep the very very tiny bit of oil around the moving parts.

Congrats on the DD YG 40! My advice is to wear it at home. I never understand why people don't. I love enjoy wearing my watches at home. Lockdown and the pandemic have afforded me the chance to change watches multiple times a day!

I use leather watch pouches.

I recently bought some expensive ones (£80 each) don’t ask me why but I needed a lot more and bought some for 15 quid a pop on eBay and they are the same quality. Metal objects can scratch through the velvet pouches Rolex give you when travelling/storing and the leather is a lot tougher.

I’d store it on your wrist! Wear your watch at home. Pandemic or not, it’s the first thing I put on and last thing I take off daily.

I would say unless special conditions, your watch is fine in the green pouch Rolex supplies. While traveling I would say, wear it if safe, and if not leave it at home.

My 20$ Casio is my travel watch. I’ve had enough horror stories form security stealing watches, to being mugged, that I would rather enjoy my holidays and offer a 20$ watch to a thieve than risk losing my little babies made in Geneva.

Your watch storage matters a lot, as it plays an important role in how long your watch is gonna last for you.

I store mine on the wrist regardless of whether I am home or going out. The watch is just too nice to not wear!! (but I only have one Rolex :( )
