Outgoing?

May I suggest outgoing threads to honor one last time the ones we let go of? All I see are incoming and I know there’s a whole other side to the story. Would be interested to hear what people are moving on from and why.

I rarely sell but add and sometimes trade, however the two outgoings for me were actually trades, one was a Milgauss black non gv. A Beauty and one of a kind millie but I could never bond with knowing the Zblue existed as it kept haunting me until I called my AD while I was out of town and made a deal right then and there over the phone. The other was my Air King which was pretty much my daily for a year and while wearing it and paying a visit to my AD one day he showed me a few that just came in, all were spoken for except an Explorer II Polar, boom, made an instant deal on the spot then went back the next day to exchange boxes and accessories. I still have the two and have no plans of moving them but I like the Milgauss so much I'm thinking of adding a new black one and possibly trade my Blnr for it as it sits more all the time being in favor of my Polar and 16710 when I want to wear a Gmt..

Back when the grey market was were you went to get a deal on new Rolex watches, I let a lot go. I sold (or traded) Sub Cs, Sub C Dates, 40mm ceramic Sea-Dwellers, 42mm Explorer 2s and BLNRs. Notice all are plural. I owned all of those watches more than once.

The only one I really miss is the Sea-Dweller 116600. I have been tempted to pay market price and buy another, but I’m hoping a new 41mm Sub will quench the desire for an SD.

Outgoing?

I buy for keeps so rarely an outgoing for me unless replaced with a variant/ same model. I did gift my best man my Omega Speedmaster reduced that he always wears as his nice watch and an IWC Ingeneur to another good friend who was also a groomsmen, he wears it on special occasions or when we catch up

Planning on gifting a Tudor Oyster Date that I no longer wear to my sister as well.

I just let go of my white faced Navitimer World after 7 months with my SubC. The realization that I’m not going to wear a 46mm watch any longer is something I’ve finally come to terms with. Next stop is a Tudor Chrono or GMT, which is not an easy decision.

Maybe also a thread called "Not Going" which lists all the life-long keepers.

<---- For me, the epitome of that list would be the OP36, perfect watch all day everyday.

Here’s my outgoing thread from some time ago.

You’re right OP, people were very interested in this thread. It was one of the most read and visited threads I’ve ever published.
