214270 Prices

$10k? $11k? $12,175??? Are people seriously paying this or are the grays just fishing?

I’ll never sell mine because it was a gift. But this might be the first time I’ve had a watch that actually appreciated!

They seem to be moving in the mid-$11K range. I already have one, so hopefully the hype just keeps building. It is one of my all-time favorites for sure!

I think it's part of a rush to get the 39mm, and think the hype will gradually die down and the secondary market pricing will follow.

I feel you man, I upgraded from a 114270 to a 214270 when the Mark 2 was introduced back when you could actually buy a explorer at an AD. If the used price hits 13k I might make a move on a GMT master.

I am from Yorkshire in the Uk.
I ordered a 39mm explorer at the beginning of this year from my AD.
It arrived in March about 8 weeks after ordering.
I paid £5200 which was the UK MRP.
The AD fitted an additional link at no extra cost.

There has been two identical watches sold by auction on uk ebay
The first one sold for £7350 which was a 2019 model
The second one sold for £7800 this was a 2020 model.

I will not be selling mine I have no desire to sell any from my modest collection I just enjoy having them and wearing them.

But the prices are going mad

Is this a world wide trend or just limited to
Uk & US

Just sold mine for what you can buy a Sub/GMT at retail for. Going to try and play that game and see if I can trade up.
