? About AD
If purchasing a watch grey and bracelet needs to be adjusted, is this ok? Will they ask ?'s on where I got the watch. And do you think they will be snobby or understanding that I went grey?

They will (SHOULD) be kind and helpful because you are a potential customer that could spend thousands of dollars with them.

Depends entirely on the AD.
I was in Maui on vacation recently and while chatting the AD said that he was disgusted one of his customers purchased a watch on the grey market and had the audacity to ask him to size it. Personally, I would go to an AD where you aren't a regular just to be safe. |

I want to say most AD’s will happily take care of the issue or refer to someone that will for you.

Years ago I took a Citizen watch to a jewelry store in my mall to be sized. The store manager helped me and said no charge, just come see her when I want another watch. Ended up buying a Movado and both of my Omegas from her.
I don’t understand how an AD could justify feeling ‘disgusted’ that a client bought a watch on the grey market if they weren’t in a position to sell the watch themselves. Trashy attitude. |

When I bought my SD43 I had to go grey. Got on "the list" at my AD but no luck so by January the following year (less than a year after release) I bought on from a grey.
Took the watch into the AD to get it sized. They knew immediately it was from a grey since they had seen very few come through their store. One of the younger guys there removed the diver extension for me and sized it. Took him forever. Said the extension was really tough to get off. Then after that we tried link here, link there, on and on. I was probably there an hour. At the end I asked what the charge was and he said no charge since they are a Rolex AD. I felt so bad I begged him to let me pay for lunch and gave him $10 for his trouble which he reluctantly took. |

I didn't think of this! Thanks. Also I would offer to pay. I am not that kind of person. Just wondering what the vibe might be like! Any experience from the any1 here would be helpful. Also this AD would be in Clayton MO. Any feedback from this AD would be helpful!

Never had an issue. Most AD boutiques are enthusiasts and will assist a fellow Rolex owner regardless of where it was purchased.

I have never gone to my regular AD to size a watch purchased from the grey market. It just feels like I'm rubbing their nose in it... Even though I know that's not the case with the inventory these days.

I have taken my SubC ND to my AD for appraisal and I have taken my Tudor Pelagos for service. Both of these watches I bought grey. My AD gladly took my money for the appraisal and service and did not question me on the pedigree of the watches.

Not all AD's can or will do it. However, I would ask if they provide this service and offer to pay and ask how much. They may do it for free or charge a small amount and you can make a decision if it is worth it or not. IMO, I don't think it is unreasonable for an AD to charge a small amount for this service if you did not buy the watch there.

You will be ok, I bought my 16570 grey and took it to my Ad to size. They didn’t even mention one word about not helping me or going grey, they sized it for me no problem.

I've taken my grey market pieces to my local AD, whom I have bought watches from, and they have been happy to adjust the bracelet.
They commented that they are a Rolex AD so there's no problem. They also appreciate (and are somewhat embarrassed) that if they can't get the desirable models to sell then their clients will go grey. |

This. It’s easy to do and easy to mess up. If it’s not a service center and just an AD, I wouldn’t let them touch it

They would probably do it, but I would recommend getting the right tools and then doing it yourself.
