Sea Dweller Losing Time-Rolex Service Center?
Hey guys- My Sea Dweller is losing 5-20 mins a day. I live in Los Angeles and have never serviced my Rolex before (it's 3 years old). Is going to the RSC the best (an obvious) choice? Thanks in advance for your opinions/advice.

ok. well if u're not comfortable. It's a pretty simple concept. If the hairsprings are stuck together because they've been magnetized, sending it through a multi directional magnet will randomize it and no longer stick together, thus the watch beats normally again. It won't hurt it. But if you're not comfortable that's fine.
Go to dealer and have them check. I figure it's just easy to do at home for $15 or so. It's a good tool to have if you have any watch that isn't anti-magentic. Especially if u have Amazon Prime etc. |

You could try to demagnitize the watch. Done properly, it won't hurt anything. 5-20 minutes is losing a lot of time. Sounds like really low amplitude to the point where the escapemenet is missing beats. Does it still have its normal power reserve? I'd kind of expect it to stop early. In any case, I think it is time for a service. The RSC should fix it for free.
FWIW, a lot of watch wearers don't wear the same watch every day. I'm kind of wondering if the manufacturers are counting on that in their new longer service intervals. If you wear the watch every day for 3 years, the watch may need to be cleaned and lubed to reduce friction earlier. |

It’s under warranty, if the timing bothers you, head over to the Beverly Hills Rolex Service Center on Wilshire. Good luck!

Don’t worry about de-magnetising the watch just take it in to your nearest RSC and get them to fix it under warranty, that’s what your warranty is for.

which SD do you have? I think the watch is probably already anti-magnetic, especially the SD43

If you are sure about it’s timing, yes take it to the RSC located at 9420 Wilshire Blvd, BH.
