Wedding band- gold or silver/platinum
Dilemma: I’ve always thought simple gold wedding band was classic. Getting married in December.
Dilemma #2: My DJ 36 oystersteel/white gold should be here any week now. Planning on a Sub as my eventual second watch. Question: Am I going to look dumb with a gold wedding band and 2 silver (colored) watches? Anyone here rocking gold bands with silver watches? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Go with WG, silver, platinum or any other metal of that color. It's more modern these days to not get a yellow gold band anyway

I got platinum 20 years ago. Sort of wish I had gone gold.

Congratulations on the upcoming nuptials. I just got married last month. I’m not a fan of yellow gold and I prefer to match. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a number of wedding bands. YG just didn't work for me and I didn't see the point of paying for a white metal. So have been interchanging between some titanium rings and a few silicon rings. The titanium rings work well paired with steel watches. I wouldn't mind a 904L wedding band...

Wedding band- gold or silver/platinum
I
I have a rotation of nice WG/diamond and black Silicone. I don’t see myself caring once I add some gold pieces if it doesn’t match. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I actually went with cobalt chrome for my wedding band. I liked the color and cobalt is a harder metal and more scratch resistant than white gold or platinum.

I’ve never been fussed about matching a wedding band to my watch.
I was more concerned with it matching my wife’s wedding band and engagement ring. |

I don't get the multiple wedding band to match your watch thing. Call me sentimental, but the only wedding band I'll wear is the one my wife placed on my finger. Mine is predominantly white gold to match my wife's

Yes, you will look dumb. That’s a no no. I would get the appropriate ring or rings to coordinate. I have about 7 wedding bands depending which watch Im going to wear. These rings cost pennies compared to what we pay for our watches.

I went platinum 18 years ago. I now wear it with a YG DD40. No problem with mixing metals.

The ring is a symbol of the covenant you are making so to be honest it doesn't matter if it is all matchy match with the other jewelers you wear.

Your wedding ring is more important. If you want yellow gold, get it. It looks fine. As others here have shown. I do the same thing.

I always considered YG ring the "classic" wedding ring, and just was married with one 2 weeks ago. I love it and have no problem mixing metals with my watch. I'd go with the ring that makes you most excited to wear it every day!

Congrats on your pending nuptuals. I originally had a gold band, but switched to s/s since all my watches are steel. I also have a ti band that I bought when I had a few ti watches. Watches and wedding band are the only jewelry I wear, and I like them to match since they're right next to each other. My wife doesn't care what wedding band I wear, as long as I wear one.

To cover all the bases, I have a Cartier Trinity band in rose gold, yellow gold and white gold. Problem solved.

This!!! Or do what I did. My wife picked out a YG band for me. I only wear it for formal occasons with a gold watch. We also bought matching stainless steel bands for everyday. I wear SS watches 99% of the time, so this works perfectly.

At one point I tried to get wedding bands to cover yellow, white, and rose gold watches. Now I just wear what I want and mix metals without care. My wife says mixing metals is ok and in style... I just do what I want.
Excuse the 1915 Wilsdorf & Davis pendant watch. This is my wedding band that I wear daily. The 18k/platinum part was the original part. The rest of it is a band I purchased about 10 years later when I lost a lot of weight. I had them soldered together so I could wear the original again as it was otherwise falling off my finger. It is heavy now at just over .75 of an ounce. |
