Gold Sumariner VS Gold DayDate

Hello everyone!

If you were getting one of these yellow gold pieces, what would be your choice? I am asking because I have heard that bracket on the DayDate is less comfortable than on the sub, and also when weather change from cold to warm with easy adjustable clasp on sub you can do it easy, but with Day Date you have to add/subtract link every time. What are your thoughts? Thank you
Sorry for pictures sizing:)

Gold DD.
DD is totally on next level.

And that model is the one I'm waiting since early this year.

Can't go wrong with either but I am leaning toward the DD with the baguette diamonds

The all gold DD is just killer. Its an epic boss watch.

The gold Sub is the ultimate f you watch.... tool watch in solid gold! They are both cool but for different reasons.... depends on your personal style and how you will wear it.

Normally I'd say DD, but not a fan of that particular configuration, so I vote sub here.

I love the Sub. I really do.

But Day Date is a whole different club.

Day Date it is. Unless you got enough dough for a Gold Rolex set, in that case why not both?

Of the variants listed; I would go Day-Date. Imo, the "gold Sub" to have is the 126618LB; The blue sunburst dial is stunning!

A YG Submariner seems to be cast against type. Not really suiting its purpose. A YG Day Date, fluted bezel and all, is classic Rolex.

The sub in stainless is an icon. But if we’re talking gold, few pieces are as sweet as a DD.

The Sub in my opinion is more versatile and affordable.

Of these 2 choices, sub. I dont like diamonds, and i like lume. So pretty easy.

If it was the blue dial all-gold sub, and any other daydate, it would be the blue sub.

If it was this black dial all-gold sub and say the diagonal motif YG day date (has lume, and no diamonds), I'd go with the day date.

I've owned two DD, two Subs (SS), and a SD4K. I must admit that the DDs didn't stick but both were 36mms; the Subs didn't stick either. For me the DDs just are too obviously extravagant where as the Sub appears to be a dive watch (which it is). Water sports watches fit my life style better. I really love the 40mm DDs but I won't buy one; I don't need another failed Day Date purchase. As far as Subs are concerned I'm hoping for a TT Bluesy (126613LB) one of these days but I'm in no rush.

I actually sold my YG DD40 and ended up buying a 116618LB, no regrets. To me the Sub is much more versatile in my day to day. I dress casually for work, tee shirt and jeans and the sub fits perfectly. Can you dress down a DD40? Sure but not as much as a Sub.

This kind of sums it up perfectly. The Sub is just more versatile, so if the OP dresses comfortably most of the time then the Sub is the way to go. I dress in jeans and t-shirts the majority of the time and feel that the Sub fits right in

I’d vote sub out of those two. That configuration of DD isn’t my style. But there is no wrong choice here, both are stunning YG pieces.

Hardest decision you will make ever in your life. I just solved that issue by buying both. These two will never leave my collection.

Going through this exact debate and I can't say I've ever seen a real life pic of this DD dial. It is incredible.
