And it's here, my grail!

Ever since my mom gifted me a stainless steel handwind Mickey Mouse watch when I was about 9, I have been enamored with watches all of my life. My collection has ranged from the Seiko, micro-brands, TAG, Omega, Panerai, of course countless Rolexes have come and gone. But today, my watch collecting history has been pared down to one, THE ONE! On to the quick & dirty pics... Also, quick shout out and big thanks to Chase @nashvillewatch for helping me along the way and making this happen!

Damn the ceramic sleeves inside each link makes the tolerance very tight!

Congrats. It really is a cool piece. Is this the forever one? Or just the one for 2021?

I said the same thing when I acquired a Skydweller last year, but quickly realized that a) Rolex's most complicated movement was too complicated to continually have to set if you don't leave it on a winder. b) a 42mm DJ-style case isn't my thing, I'm a 6-digit sport model guy

This is my grail, but I've learned not to call things a keeper ; )

Pretty sure Sky-D is a 6 digit sports model also but I get it. Just messing with you.

Congrats on a super awesome head turning score. Its beautiful. I can only imagine.

What made you choose this over the TT? I have the TT and was very close to upgrading but pulled back in favour of a RG daytona but seeing this on your wrist it's calling again. Looks great!

I thought long and hard at all of the possibilities when it comes to spending this much money on a watch. I had the Rolesor Root Beer and loved it so much that the 126715 is the natural superlative upgrade to that!

I tend to like things that are less ubiquitous and whilst many Rolex guys would never consider a brown color way, the Root Beer in RG was the obvious choice. Even if money were no object, the 126715 is for me, THE GMT to have.

Lastly, my favorite complication is the GMT, especially a true jumping hour with a 70 hour PR- can't beat that! I considered a Daytona, but I travel so the GMT function serves a purpose, whereas I would never realistically use the chrono function to time anything in my everyday life, nor do I dive, so I didn't consider a PM SUB. The idea of having chrono pushers merely as adornments for that sum of money just doesn't appeal to me.

The only reservation I have about going FG/ PM is that I know that I can't where it anytime, anywhere like I did with the Rolesor. I miss that! That said, it wouldn't make sense for you to have both the 126711 & 126715 (although I know of another member who does and loves them both). I think you made the right choice, bases covered!

Thanks for such a well thought out reply. I definitely concur that the PM version is the natural successor if you can pull it off. I started a thread about upgrading from TT and the reactions were mixed. Some preferred the aesthetics of TT but others were in the mindset of go big or go home. A couple mentioned the dial gets lost in the full everose bracelet but the pictures here look amazing. The only question that remains is if this is your one but you can't practically where it everywhere, what will you next be?

Congratulations.
I got my 1st watch about the same age. Used my allowance I had saved up to buy an orange Mickey Mouse watch at Disneyland. Had it up until about 15 years ago and it disappeared. Wish I still had it.
