Yellow Gold DD40 Owner Feedback
Hey Guys-
Love this place. Hopefully everyone doing great. Looking for some feedback from any yellow gold DD40 or even just DD40 owners. Do you love it? Do you daily it? What’s it like on the wrist compared to a SS sports model? Could it be your one and only? Love any feedback! Thanks all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Honestly its the best watch you'll ever buy. I used to be caught up in all this SS hype owning BLNRs, LVs, GMTs etc etc....long time ago. These are all nice watches and all but man they fall short compared to the big pappa.
Nothing compared to a full solid gold DD40. Its just the ultimate watch especially in YG. |

It’s pretty awesome. I rotate between my Sub and the YG DD40. I enjoy the heft of the DD. It doesn’t bother me that it is flashy. I wear it with shorts, jeans, business casual, and formal clothing. It won’t leave my collection as my middle son has already claimed it!! Lol
It’s just a special iconic piece. |

I think the YG or even RG DD is stunning timepiece and can definitely be your one watch.
It is an amazing formal watch but goes well even with casual wear. IMO you won’t regret having it in your collection. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love both my WG and RG DD’s. I don’t have YG DD as I have a YG Sub. IMHO nothing matches the feel of a full gold watch on the wrist (platinum I suppose). I still like wearing my BLRO and TT’s but the DD’s are special.

DD40 has become my daily. I have a YG Daytona and a couple other Rolex watches but once you put on the DD nothing else feels the same. The bracelet is really special and the watch itself is quite versatile. Can wear it with anything.
I often catch myself looking at mine and asking where to go from here, just feels perfect. |

I love wearing mine every opportunity I get; it is my favorite watch in my collection. However, I’d rather opt for a SS in the office because it’s loud.

Yellow Gold DD40 Owner Feedback
I’ve contemplated adding one to my collection several times, but have never pulled the trigger. Ultimately it just doesn’t suit MY taste and style and I’m 100% convinced it would spend most of its time in my safe. Yellow Gold is just not my thing.
BUT, it’s classic Rolex. Really no way to say anything bad about it. And like all watches, YOU need to love it and want it in YOUR collection and on your wrist. To me, it screams “look at my gold watch. I’ve got some money and I’m not afraid to tell you that. And I’m also cool with the fact that you might think it’s an old man’s watch. But I don’t really care what others think because I love it, and it’s friggin’ awesome, so enjoy the nice little steel thing on your wrist.” If I liked yellow gold and still dressed up a lot, I’d probably own one (or a variation of it). I know many daily it, claim it’s “sporty” and casual, and wear it with shorts and t shirts, etc. but that seems like a stretch to me. Watches are such a personal thing, and I’ve got nothing but love for those who own and wear this watch proudly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Love mine. Got it last year and absolutely love putting that thing on. The weight and feel of a PM watch is just different...makes my SS models feel kinda like toys. Sad to say but kinda true.
One and only? I don’t know, depends how into watches you are. That said, what I have noticed is I look less at acquiring SS models these days (except maybe a Daytona) and more at PM pieces. For example I’m contemplating trading up out of my bluesy for the full YG or WG sub or try to add a WG Daytona.

Mines WG but I love it! I'm not a colored metal guy. The DD40 is special; feels great on the wrist and is amazing to look at.
I wear mine in rotation. I don't have 1 watch that is more of a daily than the others.

I have a WG DD40 and it was my daily until I got the SD43. Most think it's SS and most don't know it's a Rolex.
I have a bud that got a YG DD40 as a present from his parents and he doesn't wear it much at all. He says it's too flashy for him. He loves the WG, though. If you're comfortable with YG, no reason not to rock it. |

It's an amazing watch and can easily be a daily. I love the feel and weight for the gold. It's a completely different feel than SS.

I don’t own one at the moment, but have had YG DD40’s in the collection. I’m comfortable wearing full YG, but not as a daily. I have a bigger YG model, but wear it only a couple times a week. I definitely agree with others… it definitely can be a daily, it’s an outstanding piece, and is very versatile.

Considering what other models are selling for, the DD40 is a bargain.

I wore a DD40 228238 for about 4 months as a daily. I don't think there was a single day I didn't wear it. It was the only watch I owned at the time, frankly. It holds up remarkably well for daily use, especially as the president bracelet hides any blemishes or small scratches super well.
I would say the main issue I had, was bracelet sizing. I have a weird in-between wrist size where taking a link out was too tight, and putting one in was too large. I ended up having to purchase an expensive 1.25 link at around $750~ from the AD to get the perfect fit. But even then I was struggling to get used to a lack of easy link or glide lock for a daily driver kind of watch, where my wrist would commonly fluctuate in size. I also have minor carpel tunnel syndrome due to my occupation, and the weight of the full PM watch at 205~ grams with all the links was not helping much. I eventually gave the watch up and bought something else. After trying on a regular SS watch, I was surprised how light it felt. Turns out going from 200+ grams to around 135 grams makes a big difference in a daily driver. Anyways, it was a killer boss-man watch while I had it and I often do miss it. The highs of the watch were unbeatable in it's presence. Surprisingly it kept looking mint after daily use. Only my own personal wrist problems eventually made me give it up. I hope things work out better for you though. Cheers. |

I don’t own one but I have to say the yellow gold references are quite a sight to see. Absolutely stunning.
Serious question, without insulting anybody as any model DD is superior to my skyD, but why did rolex combine Roman numerals with stick markers? I’m not sure why but it throws me completely out of whack. Am I the only one who is bothered by this? Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
