Spot the difference...
I'm not by any means an AP historian and I'm more than happy to admit that the differences in these models is beyond me.
Ref. 26574ST.OO.1220ST.02 https://www.audemarspiguet.com/com/e...1220ST.02.html and Ref. 26574ST.OO.1220ST.03 https://www.audemarspiguet.com/com/e...1220ST.03.html The description difference is: "The subdials and inner bezel adorn the iconic “Night Blue, Cloud 50” hue of the original Royal Oak." Someone tell me what I'm supposed to see please. There's a pair of gold versions as well. https://www.audemarspiguet.com/com/e...1220OR.02.html https://www.audemarspiguet.com/com/e...1220OR.03.html |

I think I see Waldo peering out from behind the moon on one of them.

Spot the difference...
IF the pictures can be believed then the dial and outer ring are quite different. But it is a big IF!

I believe this is the only difference as mentioned in this thread.
Ref. 26574ST.OO.1220ST.03 The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in stainless steel presents a dial offering contrasting blue tones. The subdials and inner bezel adorn the iconic “Night Blue, Cloud 50” hue of the original Royal Oak. Ref. 26574ST.OO.1220ST.02 A powerful combination of modern aesthetics and prestigious traditional complication, the new 2015 Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar is the latest chapter of this incredible journey which began 140 years ago.

I must be crazy but the bezel on the second one seem wider. Or at least the space between the screw and inner part of the bezel is bigger on the bottom pic. Are they the same size watch? I’ve only looked at the pics.

Looking in detail at the (bad) photos from the AP site, there is a double circle around the sub-dials of the 02.
the dials and flanges seem to have different blues, and reversed between 02 (dark / light) and 03 (light / dark). It would be necessary to have both in hand to be certain, which may be difficult to do. |

The second one looks like a rendering, there is no normal shadowing on the screws, and the change in reflection on the bezel is artificial. The first one is either a more realistic rendering or a photo, harder to tell. Can't really compare these for an accurate representation of color.

It would seem that the differences are only perceptible if you have full spectrum visor, a la Geordi La Forge, or, rarer still, if you have both pieces available IRL at the same time. |
