For sale is a pre-owned near mint condition 40mm stainless steel Rolex GMT Master II. The R-serial 16710, originally sold in 1989 is a remarkably complete set. The watch is accompanied by its original box, guarantee paper, instruction manual, warranty booklet, original purchase receipt, hang tags, and factory service paperwork. The watch was service by Rolex in 2009 where it received a complete overhaul of the movement, new dial, crown, hands, bezel insert, and a refinish. The Coke features a glossy black dial with applied white gold surround indices, date aperture at three o’clock, and a bidirectional bezel. The previously polished case remains free of imperfections sans one small mark on the upper right case side nearest the lug hole. The black and red aluminum bezel insert shows light signs of wear with a few marks on either side of noon, however it retains a rich coloration. The watch is mounted on a stainless steel Oyster bracelet dating to September 1988 (M9) which would indicate that it is likely original to the watch. The bracelet shows light signs of stretch, does not have any notable imperfections, and remains in approximately 85% condition. It should be noted that the coronet on the clasp appears a bit smooth from previous refinish work, however, it remains easily distinguishable. As configured the 16710 will accommodate a 7.25-inch wrist. The GMT Master II is powered by a Rolex caliber 3185 self-winding movement with an approximate power reserve of 50-hours.
