Bought the new DJ blue fluted dial

Just picked up the new DJ with the blue fluted dial. I find it beautifully, one of my favourite DJ combinations. Love the direct lighting effects on this dial.

Pics don't do it justice, and mine are terrible, but here are a few together with the Hulk and the new Explorer for size comparasion.

Until recently I wouldn't consider a 36mm watch. But ended up buying the new explorer on impulse, and felt so good with it that I'm now very open to this size on some watches.

I think it is just a matter of habit and now this size brings a lot of variety to my collection

Same. I really think once people try the more classically sized watches, they realize they're really fantastic.

Looks great! In the second photo it reminds me of waves in the ocean. I’m sure in the flesh it’s spectacular. Thank you for sharing with us! These are the first incoming of this dial, I believe.

Your photo shows the smooth dial - not fluted.

Thanks for the clarification.

Whenever I hear fluted on the DJ I automatically think of the bezel.

I would actually prefer the jubilee on this, but it wasn't available and I also liked this combination

Congrats on the new DJ! It looks amazing. How does it wear versus your new 36mm Explorer? You have a fantastic collection there. Well done.

Thanks!

They wear similar. The DJ feels a little larger on the wrist and also seems a bit more comfortable. Even though holding them on the hand they seem to have the same weight, the DJ feels slightly lighter on the wrist, maybe because of the barely noticeable larger lugs and bracelet.

The anti-reflective coating on the inner face of the Explorer seems better executed, but it can be due to the dial of the DJ being more reflective.

The Explorer looks and feels sportier and the DJ classier. The bezels are very different and add to this feeling.

Congratulations, I think it looks superb and I'm looking forward to getting the call from my AD. I expressed my interest in this dial from day one, although I'd want it fully fluted and jubileed. I like this trapezoidal honeycomb motif. Having said that, 36mm is unchartered territory and my only fear is it might look a tiny bit small on my 18.5cm/7.2in wrist. I'll reserve judgment until I get to try it on.
