Incoming - a semi-consolidated collection, a triumphant return to the 11 series sub

Over the past few weeks - well, years really - I have posted a number of threads about Rolex divers, 'escaping black diverville', wanting to retire and get off the treadmill, and wanting to consolidate my collection. So I hereby present the culmination of all that, and all of the great feedback I've received from you guys publicly and privately along the way, in the form of an 'exit watch'. Apologies for the line blocking the serial - but I think the white goes nicely! THANK YOU ALL FOR THE GREAT INPUTS!!!!

I think they nailed it. I had the blue pelagos (also very nice color) but this one is just perfect for me. And in the dark it looks sort of navy while in the light a candy blue

Congrats on the Smurf! Its an incredible watch and would wear it every day (if only I had it )

What changed and what is the initial thoughts?

Well I think I probably should have said full yellow gold more accurately. The WG fits my style just fine. And I thought of the one more as BLUE than I did PM.

Initial impressions are that I like the hue of the WG a lot and the weight feels great. I’ve previously struggled with watches that weigh a good deal less but when the case shape/back is perfect for my wrist as this one is, it’s great.

And as long as I’m clarifying the above, there is one Daytona I like. The WG steel/grey dial one.

The "exist watch" is a myth and we all know that. But I suppose this is as good as they come, congrats!

Beauty right there.

Curious to what you unloaded from your collection/other thread but glad you got what you wanted.

The heft of a PM Rolex is amazing!! Been wearing my RG RB non stop since last week. Granted there’s not that big of difference between it and my SS SkyD. 212 grams vs 175 but still awesome.

Hi, you helped me a lot actually as your advice on the other thread struck an immediate light bulb for me and I mostly followed it to the letter

Here's the other thread on what to trade for those interested:

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=814692

I wound up parting with the bluesy, DJ41 white, YM and snowflake (with minimal cash).

Here was my thinking:

All on the easier side to replace if I wind up regretting (versus say my SD4K or white milgauss or great condition 5 series subs).

Then smurf would be an upgrade over the bluesy (to me, the bluesy is a great watch so that's not a knock there)

The white dial would still be filled by my milgauss and OP39

I never fully bonded with the YM despite trying very hard (even posted a thread recently about how I might prefer my breitling superocean - I got flamed on that one btw - even though I LOVE the comfort/dimensions on this).

I also struggled connecting with the snowflake (another recent thread on loves and non loves of this piece).

What is interesting is that not long ago I unloaded all of my 11 series subs to move into the 12s, thinking I like the proportions better on the 12s. But now with the smurf here I am seriously questioning that - hence the title of my thread.

AWESOME!!! Great minds think alike Glad I was able to help. I obviously feel like you made all the right decisions Unload 4 less desirable with some cash.

Bluesey? Out there everywhere
DJ? Same thing
YM? Beautiful but the bezel was never to my liking
Tudor? Nice watch for the money but those faux rivets turn me all the way off

Everything else in your collection? Gotta keep.

Congrats again on your pickup. Only bad thing is once you go full PM its addicting. I'm already thinking of what to add to my RG RB. Preferably I'd like to add a RG DD or RG Daytona. No white or yellow gold for me. Well maybe

That’s alright brother. Figure out what you want and we will revisit your collection and we’ll figure it out again

Im in the same boat. Don’t know exactly what I want. Well kinda.

As I stated earlier the RG DD Chocolate or RG Daytona with Chocolate dial are haunting my dreams. I’d probably have to part with my black SkyD which will turn my dreams into nightmares sooooooo I’m at a stand still.

Been texting my A D but I just picked up the RG RB last Friday from him and he’s like already? Im like yep.

We shall see. I gotta get the call first
