GMT 1675 1966 help

Hi, I recently posted a suspicious 5512 Sub and would like your opinion on this watch. Again, some stuff has been replaced but comes with original hands dial and insert. The movement is engraved as 1560 (actually a 1565).

Thanks for all the help.

The dial in the watch now is not a factory Rolex printed dial. It is relumed or fake.

As far as the extra dial and hands are concerned, they do not appear to be the correct original parts based on the serial number. I suspect the original dial was probably gilt and the 24-hour hand would have been the type with the small pointer at the tip of the hand.

Thanks for your answer, this is the other dial he has. How does the bezel insert look. And the rest of the watch in general? movement etc?

Thanks for the help,

Do the lugs and engravings look ok to you?

Thanks,

If this is from the same seller as the 5512 you showed in a different thread, my feeling is that his good pieces have already been picked over, and all he has left are undesirable watches patched together using a combination of authentic and fake parts, plus a bunch of mismatched Rolex parts in poor condition. If your goal is to acquire a nice watch (or even a worthy project), I don't think it's going to happen.

If you are going to try to part-out the watches for a profit, there are probably some useful bits and pieces, like movements, inserts, and bracelet parts. But I don't think you should expect the forum to walk you through the process. People generally lose interest once they see that the watch is not desirable.

Agree with Dan and thanks for putting it so eloquently.

The rest is yours to work out. One thing to note is you always find stuff (often bad stuff) coming out of the woodwork whenever you undergo project watches such as these. Sage advice is pay as little as possible to cover potential issues.

First time posting here and you've all been very helpful. I have a dealer in europe that wants to buy all this for substantially more than what I paid so im covered. Mostly curious about this as I believe you are :)

Thanks for sharing. This community tries to look out for the general public so all of these pics have been saved for future reference as i'm sure these parts will recirculate into the economy again.

What do you guys think of this https://www.hqmilton.com/timepieces/...el-insert-A562 , also a 1.4 million with long E and big 24 hour hand?

It is not uncommon to find a watch there that has had its parts changed at some point the past 50 to 60 years.
